Look at the clip above at how much better the rain and spray effects were on F1 2011. That's a 14 year old game on an Xbox 360/PS4 and made by Codemasters.
Look at the angle of the rain as you drive into it. look at the spray effects and how it changes to blur up the screen as you drive directly into the wake of the car in front. This was so much better and more realistic than what we have now.. It made racing in the rain challenging and gave the player an authentic experience to what the real drivers have to deal with in terms of visibility forcing players to have to change lines and take caution when racing in a pack.
What is the excuse as to why this effect has been massively downgraded over the years, despite hardware being so much more powerful for f1 25? This is the same studio making these games!
