F1 25 UNPLAYABLE for streamers – Game pauses when losing focus
I'm a content creator and streamer, and F1 25 has just become unusable in any professional streaming setup.
Every time I click outside the game window – whether to check OBS, switch scenes, or interact with chat – the game immediately pauses. This happens even in Borderless Windowed mode, making it impossible to run a live stream unless I completely avoid touching my second monitor.
This is a massive step backward compared to F1 23, where this issue didn’t exist. I’ve confirmed it's not a config or driver issue – it’s the game itself forcing a pause on focus loss.
EA Anti-Cheat now also blocks AutoHotkey and other tools used to work around the problem, leaving us with zero solutions.
We’re in 2025. A modern racing game should support basic multi-monitor setups and streaming workflows. Streamers, broadcasters, and sim racing content creators rely on being able to switch windows without the gameplay freezing.
Please fix this. Make F1 25 continue running in background when out of focus. At the very least, add an option like:
KeepRunningInBackground=true or PauseOnFocusLoss=false in settings or config files.
Until this is addressed, the game is effectively broken for anyone streaming or managing a dual-screen setup
