Added time to pit strategy for additional stops

@BarryBLHey you will likely remember the discussions about 2 stop strategies being slower even though the strategy says 2 stop is faster and especially as the AI will follow numbers this lead to occasionally very disturbing results.

This will obviously be a bit better this year with the top 10 not forced on softs but i think if you guys would simply add something between 6-10 seconds for each pit stop things might get even better. Especially with the tires done right (punctures earliest from 90% onwards, cliff starting from ~70%, C1 far less grip than C2 and C3) this would result in realistic strategies.

The strategy just doesnt take traffic into accout and maybe even the time a stop takes is a bit off but i would trust you guys with that. Anyway we will get some traffic when we pit and this traffic will hold us up, especially AI will struggle to not lose a second here and there - they are just not that great at it yet. But simply adding time to the strategy would make the AI and player "think" twice whether to go for 2 stops or only one stop close to the puncture limit, without major retraining, at least from my understanding this should only be a mod to the pit strategy algorithm, increasing the time for each stop by ~8 seconds, could maybe be done to F1 2021 too😋

PS. for Monaco obviously 10s minimum. Drivers wont pit there twice until their tires explode😂

  • @Meza994 Can I just say that I’ve seen some really bad suggestions and I’ve 2 of yours that are horrible 😂. This wouldn’t work at all and it’s not part of F1.

@Clixx_kid Have you even understood what im talking about? Im talking about the strategy that is suggested to you by the game.. Not that you stand still in the pit box for 10 seconds🤣 The real F1 strategists are always calculating traffic into things (at least they try) yet the game doesnt..

So heres another example why this is really needed.. AI will go for the way slower 3-4 stop strategy although the tires would easily last a Medium-Hard strategy simply because the strategy is not adding enough time for pit stops.

Picture taken from Nekrews51s newest video a 100% race around Australia where we know it was a easy one stop IRL and the tyre wear ingame allows it!

@EA_Kentwould be nice if you could check if this was passed on or not because this will ruin a lot of races and ruin immersion and shouldnt be a complicated fix!

@Meza994 yes, I also pointed out something similar somewhere. At the beginning of the season was not so clear about strategies, tyres and pit stops number but now it looks we are going towards 1 pit stop (the most tracks) unless "horrible" VSC comes into play. It would be nice the AI to be a bit more conservative about pit stop in general and I also agree about suggested strategies even if I personally use my own algorithm and clearly consider a lot the track position track related.

BTW they are also going the most (IRL) with Medium and especially Hard tyres, while we usually have the greatest benefits with the Soft in the game, not only the AI.

IRL Soft have often graining, overheating etc., perhaps in the game could be modified as well, even if not a major issue and it's not easy to follow the real, year by year and track by track.

@Nuvolarix I think 1-2 stop on every track that doesnt use C1s will be meta IRL and seems to be fairly realisticly replicated ingame - not sure about the C1s as those are much slower IRL and the game usually only does even pace differences between all tires.. If realistic low grip on C1 ingame the strategies will be fitting (soft to medium and multiple stops)..

Yeah players can think about traffic and track position, the AI cant thats why ideally this would add 6-10s per stop to the strategy depending on how easily you can overtake on a track (length of straight?).. So Monaco 10 or even more seconds, Baku 5-6 seconds, Australia ~8 seconds..

This would work especially well if the limit in the strategy wouldnt be 75% wear anymore as the tires seem to not blow up anymore so theres no need for this limit, just the pure wear influencing it.

Regarding the soft graining isnt needed too much, yes its part of it IRL but even Mediums get graining like in Australia and in Canada.. But graining and stuff is on Grecos list and will possibly feature future games for this game though definitely not doable
