The AI aggression can really spoil your race and is very frustrating. Perhaps it is more that their awareness of the player car is absent. They force themselves into positions that will often result in the player being hit, often tagging your real wheel and putting you in the barrier - this is very annoying after completing all the practice sessions and qualy session to then have the race ruined in the opening laps. The most common experience seems to be an AI car tagging your rear wheel which puts your nose into the wall - the AI will then continue to accelerate into the side of you, pushing you along the track. For context - I have played each F1 game since 2015 on a wheel, in cockpit cam with no assists.I have found that this issue is present each year when the new game is released.This year's AI have improved in many ways but the lack of awareness they show is still present.

@Bauersome AI seems like a big improvement to me, is more aggresive, you can't overtake them so easily this year, they do make mistakes when you put pressure on them. Regarding some AI crash into you (which many are completely understandable if you look at the replay), they crash into each other in real life too, so what's the problem with some random crash? Do you want to be the only one on track able to crash the AI? For me the AI is a real improvement this year.

@HempyjrExactly, and had to wholeheartedly disagree with OP.I've mentioned on a lot of threads, where if you try to race the AI like how you race humans - keep your awareness up, be cautious and respect the spaces, then you'll have a much better experience than just about ANY racing game on the market in this generation.I genuinely have never had a bigger blast racing with AI in my 20+ years of gaming, and I'm not being sarcastic.

I really like the AI this year, one of the best I've ever seen in a racing game... They made mistakes and defend, If you leave enough space, there will be no problem.

@Bauersome I don't agree. Some AI drivers are aggressive. As they are IRL too. What I DO want is for the AI to get penalized when they break the rules with their aggressive driving/dangerous driving.

So is every single person having this. Because I'm not. I've adjusted my ai level and all is fine.

@Bauersome AI seems like a big improvement to me, is more aggresive, you can't overtake them so easily this year, they do make mistakes when you put pressure on them. Regarding some AI crash into you (which many are completely understandable if you look at the replay), they crash into each other in real life too, so what's the problem with some random crash? Do you want to be the only one on track able to crash the AI? For me the AI is a real improvement this year.

Gran Turismo definitely wins worse AI ,
The AI on F1 is a bit aggressive but not the worst.
There's loads of room for improvement but personally, I expect more from big companies especially since CM has been releasing the F1 series every year.

@Jimjonez323 I haven't try GT7, but since GT5 they probably had the absolute worst AI I've ever race against by miles.

While the AI is a bit bonkers right now, F1 AI is still one of the best available.
Could be greatly better and maybe more customizable, but it does it's job to provide an entertaining race. As many mentioned, GT AI is railroad at it's finest and it's very bland to race against.
There is some improvements but It can be better, but I disagree on being the worst on the subject.

Nothing changed, AI in Gran Tourismo Series is set strategically to block the middle of the road rather than race as a real scenario....hence you earn fewer points and spend on micro-transactions.
The main issue with most AI is they are too slow in corners and easily outbreaked....Haven't tried this new update, but hope they continue to work on the AI .....Won't be too long before the focus switches to 2023.

@Hichel18 Would love to see ai drivers given different traits.. hmmm codies ai mixed with nemesis systems from shadow of Mordor/war. Where the ai would dekelop traits based on how it performed. Not to the extent the shadow games did.., Best ever game system mechanics ever. Always wondered why it’s not be used in other games. Turns out it’s patented by Warner brothers and developers don’t want to put time into making something similar knowing they will be taken to court . Would love to see it adapted to big racing games

@ScarDuck14 I think the AI drivers should have more parameters to be more flexible to progress, instead of how it is. Traits acquired during career mode would be really interesting and it could even set the potential of having drivers failing or succeeding based on how well it performed or lucky it got.

Delving into rivalries it could even mean going to a team that would have to sack the other driver or block you from signing from that team, it could really spark something during play

That's one of the things CM needs to balance out. It's frustrating when the AI dive bombs you, there is some contact, and the game always penalized the player for that contact.
