I don't think the RPP are against the other teams, it's more what your team feel your car can do in its current state. So if you are ranked at the bottom you can still pass the program, but doesn't mean you'll be challenging for the win, just you'll be finishing where the car should be. The only program that you're competing with the other teams is qualifying pace. I believe. But I could be wrong.

@DRudd13 I tend to agree.
What’s also interesting is the targets in the qualy program; in my last season in Bahrain, IIRC, my car was 9th in the car dev rankings, so that’s P17 and 18 (assuming you take the driver out of it).
Also IIRC the Qualy practice program green goal is 19th (beat the team below you) and purple is 17th (in theory, beat your team mate).
You only see the “P” ranking in the banner as you cross the line, I will also note this down going forwards.
Speaking of which, it would be good to see the target times and “P” rankings in the practice program screen rather than on track.
I suppose something else I have to consider is my race pace compared to qualy pace. I am a not as good in qualy as I am in the race.
Does anyone know if AI race pace is “scaled down” compared to qualy, or are they simply driving the same, and pace is adjusted for tyres and fuel?

spot on with the findings on the practice programs. And the more you increase the car performance the harder the targets become.
And yes, it would be good to see the target times before heading to track. I'd also like to see an average tyre temp in the race strat results screen. - Monzstar833 years agoSeasoned Ace

Sounds plausible right?
Although, it still doesn’t explain the situation in Miami where I can barely keep up with my teammate in the race but comfortably beat the deltas in RPP.
Having said that one other observation that just came to mind, from memory the tracks where I’ve struggled with the above issue tend to be the “newer” tracks in the game series - Imola, Miami. I wonder if it’s my familiarity with them or if the AI is not as well trained. Having said that for Saudi the AI seem to be consistent with Bahrain and Australia, and I could keep up. Food for thought 🤔

I had never thought about the deltas being linked, but it sounds very plausible. Could just be a simple equation like RPP is =1.5/2 seconds above expected qualifying time. But don't quote me on that.
The thing is it's hard to compare anything in my team, but your teammate is your best comparison, But he may have taken all new parts in Miami while you maybe making do with older parts. So even comparing against him isn't going to be 100%.- Monzstar833 years agoSeasoned Ace

Agree it will be hard in MyTeam because of the changing factors. I’m sur e the day will show some interesting things though - hopefully we might be able to some sense of it.
