Car model / ranking updates

Lets say I start a driver career with Williams on release date. I would want any visual updates if there are any during a season. But i dont want any ranking updates,as I want the rankings to change naturally in my career.

I understood you can choose to update the rankings halfway the season, is this correct? Cause I dont want any ranking updates as soon as my career is started.

But I do want the car model updates halfway the season. Is this possible or do you have to restart your career?

Are these separate updates? Ranking and car models and can you choose separately to update or not?

    Game assets once updated would replace the older ones everywhere. There would be no "physical" old spec car asset for the game to even load up, unless they were made as alternative liveries and the like.

    Performance updates have the option to be applied to current save games or disregarded.

    Once the performance update hits though, I don't think you'd be able to start a *new* career with the old ratings.

    Ah awesome, so we will get visual updates at all times and performance updates can be ignored if wanted.
