Constant juddering, stuttering and tearing in Performance mode

Product: F1 22
Platform:Xbox Series X
Summarize your bug While playing in Performance mode, there is constant juddering, stuttering and tearing, which was not present in F1 2021. It is easily noticeable around Bahrain. Restarting the game sometimes alleviates this.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? MSKE-GBHK-RBBG-GAEG
Which area is the bug/glitch in? TT
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Did you have cross-play enabled? Yes
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Set "Graphics Priority" to "Performance". Go to TT. Go to Bahrain. Start a flying lap. While driving, there will be constant juddering, stuttering and tearing. See the attached demo videos.
What happens when the bug occurs? There is constant juddering, stuttering and tearing, which makes the gameplay feel less smooth and consistent than in F1 2021.
What do you expect to see? Smooth performance, as in F1 2021.

Demo videos:

- Canada - report code ATDX-CKMX-SEDT-GBEG: https://twitch.tv/videos/1643422710

- France - report code XEHG-CTAV-KXPT-GEEG: https://twitch.tv/videos/1712869850

- Bahrain - 1 second freeze - report code XDRS-MXJX-TMJJ-GJEG: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AqsCmb29voAYjB3dqRYgU6FWv0C0?e=ArlnH5

Workarounds that do not work:
- Disable virtual rear view mirror

- Disable ghosts in TT

- Reset camera settings to default values

- Run the game with the console in offline mode so there is no background networking

- Disconnect the external HDD from the console so there is no background activity from it

- Do a full shutdown of the console

- Clear the system cache by unplugging the power cable and attempting to turn it on

- Change the Xbox background from a dynamic background to a solid colour

@ScarDuck14 as I said above, it still happens with the virtual mirror and all ghost cars disabled, and with the default camera settings. The only fix is restarting the game. After restarting it, if it runs normally, I can keep everything turned on and even widen the FOV and it doesn't affect performance.

I also noticed that if I enable VRR on the TV while the game is not running smoothly, there's a lot of flashing in menus and the brightness seems to fluctuate during gameplay, matching the stutters.

@REDRA-11If I force vrr I just get the loading screen flashing.

Sorry can’t help you with this. I’m clean out off suggestions

Other than FOV.  I run -10 to -15.  It’s a long shot Decreasing it will slightly slow everything down. Which may help refresh 🤷‍♂️

At this point, I don't know how this could be anything else other than an issue with the Xbox Series X version. To recap what I've tried and didn't help:

    - Disable virtual rear view mirror

    - Disable ghosts in TT

    - Reset camera settings to default values

    - Run the game with the console in offline mode so there is no background networking

    - Disconnect the external HDD from the console so there is no background activity from it

    - Do a full shutdown of the console

    - Cleared the system cache by unplugging the power cable and attempting to turn it on

It's as if the game sometime starts in some low-power mode and sorts itself out after being restarted.

The PS5 version doesn't have this issue.

Hey @REDRA-11  I do genuinely sympathise with you on this issue.  However you’re the only person that seems to be having this issue now.  I very much doubt the devs will do anything specific with this.   Unless it gets fixed by the general minor stability improvements and fix’s they add onto patch’s.

It may well  be a fault at their end but it could well be a fault with your Xbox, TV or even the HDMI lead.

You may not be having issue with other games. But not many games have you driving around a race track at F1 speeds. Not to mention only a few games run at 120fps.  Your series x maybe able to handle the information.  But leads are a weak link. Especially at the connecting end. And TVs these days have so many features that run in the background that can easily interfere with the information sent from your Xbox

Honestly I have a Sony Tv that updates  ps5 specific features.   But even so i still find myself activating the secret developer mode so I can turn off everything other than the sound and picture to get the best performance.

@ScarDuck14 I appreciate your willingness to help, but your answer doesn't really make sense as I've said multiple times already that no other game, including F1 2021, has this problem and the PS5 version of F1 22 also doesn't have it.

The updates, if anything, have actually made it worse. It seems that restarting the game no longer fixes it and I get this 1 second freeze, in addition to the stuttering and tearing, every time I start a flying lap around Bahrain: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AqsCmb29voAYjB3dqRYgU6FWv0C0?e=ArlnH5

@REDRA-11Sorry I should have made myself alittle clearer. I know PS5 doesn’t have the problem. All I ment to say was I have a TV designed by the same manufacturer specifically designed to get the best out off my PS5. I researched the Tv extensively before buying. And every review I read said. As a TV it’s just ok. But is the go to option if you have a PS5. When I put them together the Tv automatically sets it up to beat settings. But because of 120fps combined with constant fast moving picture. Any other apps, processes can and will cause interference.

Example if I’m on track and have a song playing in background using Spotify I notice a slight drop in frame rate. Soon as I close app back to normal. If I have my Tv connected to internet same thing. It’s not huge to the point off any stuttering or tearing, But I put so many hours in I notice

It doesn’t happen in other games even fast paced games because they are short bursts compared to F1 games that have prolonged periods off constant refreshing

This is not an xbox issue but I can’t see a relevant topic other than this for stutters so i will explain my issue here.

currently playing on PC and ever since F1 2021 i have had strange microstutters which were worse on 21 for me.

after loads of digging, I’ve came to find out its Texture Streaming… simply to get no stutters i have to have it on ultra Low. Even if i had every graphic setting on the lowest possible with texture streaming just on Low (not Ultra Low) I would stutter.

i can run most settings on Med-High but with texture streaming on Ultra Low and the game is smooth at 120+ fps. Does sometimes drop below that

like for example Massenet at monaco was horrendous, Bahrain T4, imola and canada main straight, Singapore as a whole. It was always 20-30 fps drops.

so i am wondering what it could be down to, especially since its only at certain areas of tracks, id want to say my CPU and id probably say its the cache??? Possibly a RAM issue? Other than that I really can’t think what it may be

    PC Specs:

    Ryzen 5 1600 AF (6 core 12 threads)

    Radeon 5500 XT 4GB

    16GB 3200MHz

    - Game is installed on my WD SN770

    - Using a good display port

    - Monitor: Gigabyte M27Q

For future reference, the best thing to have done would have been to have started a new thread specific to your own issue.

I'm afraid I don't know enough about PC gaming to be able to help with your specific question.
