Controller Issue

Steering input lag on controllers.

My brother in christ, even steam confirmed that the game is partial controller support. Last year game it was fully supported. In the future f1 games, codemasters and ea will force us to buy a goddam full * rig with direct wheel because of how controllers are evolving right now. Jeddah is useless, because I replay 100 times just to not get the track warning. Jeddah is 2nd most quickest track (Monza) but in terms of corners, it is jeddah. And that brings huge disadvantage. The steering just pauses in the center after I steer to left or right. It is just disgusting. EA and CODIES, have you ever tried assetto corsa on controller. It is so fine and responsive. Meanwhile on F1, you expect us controllers to be really precise and not overstep the throttle input cus if I do, I will have to accept the fate of spinning out rather than trying to save it.

I demand the controller filters to be removed or removed to an extent and make it fun by allowing us to fight the car, rather than the car fighting me. It is honestly not fun anymore because I always worry about not spinning out rather than opponents fighting me.

I hope that the person who came up with this delayed, stuck in the centre steering, input lag with absolutely no chance of sorting your car on track gets shagged in the afterlife by Jesus and whatever the * religion you are following and have a funeral with no people because you are honestly such a worst part of the game franchise for us controllers.

  • There is a slight delay around centre on a ps5 pad. Try increasing steer rotation in pad vibration settings. To around 480

  • The built-in controller filters that cannot be turned off and mess up steering have been in F1 games since F1 2015 (older games such as F1 2012/2013 had an option called "steering wheel override" that got rid of all the controller filters and made controls very responsive and you could fine tune it from there in the controller options). I've complained about the stupid filters in the official CM F1 forum for years but developers don't care about implementing good controller support.

@BadMayh3m No, dont change anything steering related. Standard settings have always been the best.

@Subbaro then explain his dead zone.
He has a broken controller or a PC issue.
Duck is on PS5 and Im on Xbox and neither of us has seen this issue.
As far stock settings working for you I can believe that.
    They dont work for everybody.
For example I run 440 wheel rotation anything faster than that and I cant catch the car with the side benefit of straightline stability the advantage is 1 to 3 seconds for me.

@BadMayh3m My Dual sense seems to like 380 rotation for most part. But I’m also using an extender stick. I put it up to 420 for Spa and Silverstone.

Only other thing I can  suggest, if you’ve not already done so is reduce  FOV.   I find  -10 to -15 helps me when rotating  the car.  I don’t know how to explain  the witchcraft behind it.   But it does make steering more precise

I started playing this game recently on PC. I have an high end system and run at about 250fps locked. I'm also using a dualsense.

And I agree, steering feels delayed even at 250fps!!. But one thing that helped me was reducing the wheel rotation. I leave everything else default.

220° works for me very well.

I also change the default deadzone from 0.1 to 0 on the config files.

Adaptive triggers are also useless, way to slow to provide feedback. Even if you acelerate very slowly and smoothly can still spins before the trigger gets harder.

Brakes are ok, u can actually feel it before you lock the wheels

@askan7 Yeah I’ve turned off the triggers. Feedback is way to weak this year. Although they work great when doing the supercar hotlaps before gp weekend.

    What config files?
