Not sure why people are answering you that it is not possible. It is possible and I did about 1 month ago.
You need to have both the Xbox One and your new Xbox series S running on the same network, then you go into the settings on the old one and allow Network transfer, do the same setting on your new Series S. Now on your Series X the old One should be found via the network and simply choose which game to copy and once done your save game is copied over to the Series S.
Voila!
in the link you have all steps explained.

@Isalitt2008Not sure about xbox. But ps5 you can play either ps4/ps5 games. You can play ps4 saved games on ps5 providing you have installed and play the ps4 version off the game,
you can’t use saved ps4 saved game files with a Ps5 game
I assume it the same for Xbox

If you read my reply I had the F1 22 Xbox One version of the game and moved the saved game files to the Xbox series S version of the game to the new next gen console. It works in this way on Xbox.
Of course it is possible to play the last gen games on Series S/X but all save files are not there via the saves on the cloud. It is basically the same game code but with enhanced graphics therefore the save files works seamlessly on both.
