I've been following this thread because my mates are having the same issue on old gen consoles. I submitted a ticket to EA and quoted this thread, they said it's already in hand and an update should be coming soon so it is definitely an EA issue not an Xbox one. The insider programme is unlikely to be a contributing factor.
They didn't give any timescale but said it's being rolled out asap which is good news I suppose.

There was an update last night that I was hoping would be the fix but even after the update, still same problem. I’ll keep watching. It’s comforting to hear that everyone else is experiencing the same issue lol I was worried my steering wheel or Xbox was done for.

Good news! The issue has been fixed in the latest Xbox update. At the moment it is only available to Xbox Insider program users, if you sign up for it and install todays update the issue is resolved (on Xbox one X with g923 wheel at least!)
You can sign up for the insider program to get the update, or just wait for it to be rolled out to all users. No idea when that will be though. The update notes can be found here:

- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@tsmullet 👍. They started rolling out the fix yesterday. It’s a shame you have to make sure your apart off the insider program. And have to wait for general release
