F1 22 PC VR jittering, freezing screens and crashing

Anyone having issues with VR stuttering inside of the car when looking left and right. Game is looking fine on the monitor but with the headset on it's unplayable.

When having to retire the VR screen fully freezes and continues on the monitor, which forces me to take off my headset or close the game.

Also after updating my NVIDIA drivers I started crashing when loading into time trials.

PC Specs and VR headset:

AMD Ryzen 5 3600

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080

16GB Ram

Oculus Quest 2 via link cable

    Hey everyone! 

    We have poked our teams on the issue, in the meantime they are investigating can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

    @vapeNgun86okay it's definitely better but still not good. Now I was able to start a race and I have the same problem. If I go into flashback, steamvr crashes. The VR experience MUST be fixed! @EA_Atic

    @Pierrerino86I have try some different grafic settings. VR settings on low. FPS are 20-30 FPS and Frametime is 30 - 40 ms. And extreme jitering is too.

    @Silvercrow1983 Which supersampling options do you use? I really have no issues with fps. Only with Crashs an jittering.

    - I use Oculus (72hz) and Steamvr on default.
    - ingame on vr High preset with post processing low
    - steamvr overrite option in the vr ingame Option on 130.

    The game looks good and the fps are constantly on 72. Only this damn jittering which makes you sick

    Hello,

    I thank I have May fixed the issue. I made sure to disable SteamVR Home through the Quest 2, while the SteamVR app was opened, I started the F1 2022 game in VR mode. I was able to finish two practice events, a qualifying lap, and a complete race with no issue at all.

    Many games often crash on the VR headset if the SteamVR App is not already running beforehand.


    I listed my specs in an earlier post and will post here if need be.

    If this fixes for everyone then I would definitely put this out. Thank you for your quick response into looking at a possible fix and I hope this helps.

    @XecutiveAces Okay ill have a lock. But how to disable steamvr home through the quest? If i do this, steamvr close. And then open steamvr via Mouse on Desktop, steamvr Homepage starts in the quest.

    @XecutiveAces  tried it. The jittering effect is still there. I think we can do better with different settings. However, we are dependent on the help of the developers who simply have to program this game better. In the previews it was said that you can play VR with a 2070 without any problems. I don't think so. The game is so resource consuming. It just has to be done better. It's just no comparison to Assetto Corsa, AMS or iracing - in the negative and that's just not good.

    @Silvercrow1983  I think your GPU is just too weak for the current state of the game. Maybe you try to move the supersampling to the 0 range. Maybe you have enough FPS that way
