I haven't seen a post about F1 23 features people wanted to see, so I decided to make this post for anyone who had any suggestions for the next game to put in the commentsMy big suggestions would be:Probably a new game engine as its the same one used in f1 2009More realistic traction (use feedback from f1 drivers)More Career mode and My team contentMore FFB improvements

My wishlist! Some will echo what others have posted as wellGeneral Suggestions- More extensive testing (or an open beta)- Remove F1 Life and Supercars entirely - unless we're going to see different and not 1st person cutscenes of our player in casual wear, just remove F1 Life entirely- New game engine (but please extensively test on modern VR headsets such as a Quest 2, as well as including Quest runtime/VR option instead of just SteamVR)- MyTeam Co-Op so we don't just take over another team. The framework is right there, we just need our own team as an option!- I don't know why this isn't possible, but let Custom season be well and truly custom. Let us re-order the races how we want in the custom modeGameplay Suggestions- Red flags + formation lap from pit road to the grid (which should also have a skip option), also rolling starts in the Wet- Manually driving in pit road (pressing a button isn't immersive, actually turning in and out of the box is)- Better/more talkative engineer (currently when a SC gets deployed, sometimes I don't hear any info about it)- Better AI behavior when you're on a slow lap and well off line- Teammate requests: Don't fight, fight, let player pass, let teammate pass - Letting the teammate pass in F2's opener for 2020 if I remember correctly, should be in the main game depending on championship points and/or general pace- Include "We'll come out in X position if we box now" when using Pit Stop Information- Include "When did [Driver last name] box," and "When did [Position X] box," and "Where is [Driver Last Name]?" - latter line primarily to use with AI - to better get an idea of strategy

so I haven’t posted on the forums in a long time, I’ll put my thoughts below but I have put not much time in this years game in comparison to previous years and we have like 6 months in the current games life cycle left so apologies for the length of the post,i know we make these posts every year but the reality is unless codemasters have already been working on the stuff we want changing or adding the likly hood is incorperating them with 6 months of development time left from a 2 yearly cycle to work on the games is probably zero unless it's something really easy and uncomplicated to add.I have played all the f1 games from 2010 to now and even older titles on playstation, I can’t tell you play time on 2010, 2011, 2013 & 2014 as those were all on the Xbox 360 but would easily have been 200+ hours on them, moved over to pc from 2015 onwards, had 182 hours in 2015, 325 hours in 2016, 396 hours in 2017, 196 hours in 2018, 2019 I put in 318 hours, 2020 I put in 245 hours, 2021 and 2022 have the least hours in game 2021 I played for 101 hours and f1 22 I have 44 hours. I’m 34 years old now have a kid and work 40 hours a week so I get limited time to play games and honestly for f1 23 this won’t be a game I pre order and won’t buy until I have tried it on the ea play trial, f1 22 has ended up like 21 but worse somehow and 2021 gave off a vibe of being unfished due to the missing tracks, major bugs or issues either take a long time to be fixed or still need to be fixed with game updates a lot of the time breaking other things or making some issues worse. the handling model changes that ended up being done although improved things a bit they didn’t really fix the core issues of how the cars drive, when I get to play games I want actually enjoy playing it and for me the games haven’t been enjoyable to drive since f1 2020, the cars feel like they have no traction or grip in some instances you can flash back and take the corner in the same way and 1 time you will spin but the next time you don’t, car setups are flawed and don’t really follow what should be happening IRL I mean what f1 car uses 50% brake bias? So what are the suggestions or changes I want to see?first thing release the game in a more playable state, the launch for f1 22 was abysmal and probably the worst I have seen since 2016, game unlocked late on steam and a lot of people couldn’t use their wheels if they had separate wheelbase and pedals on multiple input devices without doing some major work arounds and then had to wait weeks for the issue to be fixed, and the communication of cross play was less than desirable especially the fact that although pc was on 2 launchers neither could play with each other and this wasn’t known until the day of release!second thing communicate with your player base and not just on social media in the forums too, Barry BL was a great community manager but since he got moved on to a different role the communication from the staff with the exception of David Greco has been next to none existent - I want a car that’s as easy as f1 drivers say they are to drive, I should be able to take hairpins in 1st or 2nd gear like IRL and not 4th gear so you don’t get wheel spin.-car setups that are a bit more realistic with telemetry and engineer to assist with making changes, Moto gp games do this and have done for years so why can’t the f1 games? - some Tracks need major overhauls and personally I feel that they all should be later scanned, some tracks are like imola, zandvoort, france, spain, portimao & australia but others don’t even represent how the tracks are girl, spa is nothing like it is girl even before the layout changes which I would assume is updated for f1 23, but other tracks have had minor layout changes like at baku before the castle section and these changes haven’t been done in game.-classic tracks would be a nice thing to add tracks to give the career mode and my team some customisation, we don’t need anything from a long time ago but tracks that have been in the games before like hockenheim & sepang as examples or the alternate oval version of bahrain.- more immersion for career mode, incorporate the little things that we had in the older games like the open world paddock, your own space in the teams motorhome, 2014 had a young drivers test, preseason testing would be nice too if it gave feedback on where your teams cars strength and weakness are compared to the others.-my team was a breath of fresh air but it’s been in the games 3 years now and is pretty much the same with no noteworthy changes or additions, give us some things that make the player car look different, different design front wings, noses, side pods etc., maybe let us start our own engine department instead of going with one of the current PU suppliers you know add things which can make the mode still be fresh because after 2 seasons it gets a bit stale.- better ers control for races, the simplified changes are better in some ways however harvesting is not that good to try and do at least allow us to manually go into none mode if we want to-ai give us separate adjustment for ai skill level and aggressiveness I like how the ai fight you on track but sometimes the aggression is just too much and a lot of the time they act like the player isn’t even there. -multiplayer needs a major overhaul, given the option for dedicated servers please, peer to peer is all well and good but when you have major desync and general net code issues it’s not that great especially when you heavily push and market the game as a Esports title. Quick play is anything but quick when it takes 15 or more minutes just to find or get into a race which isn’t in progress.

1) Some basic racing data/telemetry- Can we add speed trap column in the main time screen (including our own).. so we can get an indication in terms down/force and setups and dont get murdered during the race- A chart relating to our team mate with basic stuff especially where is he faster instead of ERS garbage that has no use.2) AI difficulty needs to be determined independently by either - ur times in times in Time Trial or - Doing 1 hot lap prior to the race weekend instead of the garbage stuff they make us do (classics or super cars challenges).. 2) Team and Driver profile and stats in career/my team mode- ratings of other drivers in career mode like in team mode- you can click on other drivers and get career stats.. race starts, wins, podium points and this get updated inline with career progression- Team data in My Team mode with table showing for all teams number of races wins and podium reputation levels and resource points spent3)Team orders- If ur team mate is slow you can request the team to let you pass.. this can also affect morale if you dont do well after the request- The team can request also from you to move if you refuse it can affect ur reputation and future contract negotiation especially if ur reputation level is below the team4) AI strategy gets affect by ur strategyThe AI should notice when switching compounds (Wet to inters or Inters to slick).. in F1 22 the AI sticks to the wets to the end of the race and I switched to Inters and was 2 seconds a lap faster in slower car.. that just ruined the race5) Emotion dynamics of AI drivers...especially team mates.- if you crash or you keep annihilating him .. this will also affect team orders response- some interactions with team mates that can affect team dynamics. Also affect team m moral and resource pint generations I know that this is a lot to ask.. but its better than the classic/super cars garbage that we have/had in f1games

@LittleAmigoBrit A new engine would be perfect the game is far from ugly, but you can see that the engine is getting really old…A new pit system, one you can drive and exit manually, not that turn in the right time sh*t.Better AI, I mean in things off the race, like in qualy, when I’m in a cool down lap and they don’t pass me, they need to respond faster on blue flags too. But I already see some nice stuff, like the AI smashing the wall while doing a wrong racing line, and making mistakes on breaking.Classic Cars, maybe leave only the safety cars avaiable to drive, whe don’t need this.Improve sounds — AGAIN, I hope for this every year. They put the aston safety car, but there’s almost zero pop’s and bangs sounds. Same for AMG, I was in Interlagos last year, the amg make a loud bang sound on down shifts.And maybe a new game studio get the license to make a good game 🙂 that’s my dream

Only in name. I don't know what version they're on now, but F1 2015 bumped the EGO engine to v4.0, and that was a pretty big rewrite at the time.

@gallusnumpty From what I am aware of the engine is still 4.0, which would make it 7 years old, and I generally think having a new and updated engine for the f1 games would make the experience much better and hopefully less buggy

My wishlist?
NO MORE CODEMASTERS BUT A DEV WHO ACTUALLY UNDERSTANDS WHAT A COMMUNITY WANTS AND NEEDS BY LISTENING TO THEM, BEING TRANSPARANT AND ENGAGING AND INTERACTING WITH THEIR COMMUNITY.

A dev who RESPECTS their community in stead of only grabbing their cash, release a broken POS year in year out, and doesn’t care a single bit

No negative comments from me today as the purchase is only 6 days old and already so intricate. But I am hoping for immersion beyond the technical aspects of Formula One racing. We have three slots for holding our own created characters. I'd like to see one of them dedicated to holding a main character with the other two as possible recruits to the team. Perhaps these could be offered to other players as well? Several seasons of F2 racing should be sufficient to develop new recruits.

1. I'd like to see the classic cars returning. It would be cool if we could get every championship winning car from 1950 to present.
2. I'd also like to see old tracks returning eg. Watkins Glen, Mangy Cours, Adelaide, the Green Hell etc. It could be done ingame or via DLC packs or a new standalone game.
3.I would like to see the wheel and pad equalised, the wheel has too much of an advantage.
4. A Hall of Fame book citing all records.
5. Louder engine effects, for some reason the game seems like its on low volume (maybe my hearing is poor).

I personally would like to see a rehash of the practise test sessions. It's seems odd you can shorten the race but have to do full fp sessions. Be nice to have these dialled down in length in comparison, so you don't spend majority of one f1 session doing fp tests. I do quick simulate anyway and thank god its there. Just wish there was another less repetitive way of doing these.

@LittleAmigoBrit My addition to the wishlist is more along the lines of cosmetic realism but it's still early days.

- A 'misc' slot next to the sponsor slots on the decal where players can put the logo of the engine supplier or logo's from the clothing brands from F1 Life on the car as well. Maybe even some text input to go on the inside of the halo, like the McLaren drivers had for their instagram, for example. All this enhances the realistic look of the livery.
- When playing through the seasons, also change the order of the pitboxes to last season's constructor championship - not just in the first season.
- More different end race scenes and podium scenes by the AI (kind of links in with the use of the new engine as described in the first post)
- More minor mechanical and technological issues. Not just the DRS being faulty, but sudden loss of telemetry for a couple of laps of the ERS that needs to be 'resetted' from the pit wall (if that even exists)
- Adding circuits that are not on the official calendar to the custom seasons
