I only managed to reach 315kmh on straights where the AI reached 330-340 which is normal
I was using setups from simracingsetup.com which apparently are really bad
I recommend trying James' setup from f1carsetup.com They are TT setups but works really well in My Team Season 1.
In France i struggled to keep up with the bottom 5 AI on 95 difficulty and changing setups got me into the top 10 battle on 101
I think many uses setups with too high wing levels. i went from 14-20 wings to 7-8 wings in France with NO GRIP LOSS
These are ground effect cars in the game too, wings are less important.
I have been using these set ups too. on my team his setups worked for me last year. So far starting my team as a back marker the car never gets to 200 mph.
thanks for the heads up, i’ll have a look at james setups as i’ve used them in the previous games too.

I have used racing sim setups. He does say his setups are mainly focused on stability and not overall speed.
I’ve always found his wing settings to high for my liking.. so always lower them. ESP the rear wing.
However his suspension settings I find work well but as a baseline. Remember no single persons setups will suit everyone. We all have different styles which require different setups
I like a very pointy front end. So more often than not my front wing is higher than my rear.
