@Ultrasonic_77I havent finished watching but i think i know why people think the handling is too oversteery.. Mather says they wanted to get rid of the understeery cars they had.. Make the cars pointy and edgy like real F1..
Well the W12 in iRacing showed that its not as on edge as the elitist hype always suggests.. In other words IMO they are making the car less understeery with the wrong means. You can make a car well balanced and a bit on edge by giving it a little bit more front end but also increasing the Chassis weight balance value (COMY for all knowing, and its always been too low).. This way you get a car thats not understeery whatsoever but also doesnt step out on the tiniest wheel movement.. I think its meant well but utilizing the wrong means to achieve the goal..I wanna emphasize that for all this i mean it on a very fine scale, nothing hugely wrong or anything (apart from minimum load front grip haha) just slightly wrong balancing!
The videos I've seen have all been commenting on the cars understeering rather than oversteering? Which did you have in mind? Maybe there's a distinction to be made re. low and high-speed corners.
- Meza9944 years agoSeasoned Ace@Ultrasonic_77 Well im sure its too much front end in low speed. Therefore the traction problems and higher low speed cornering speeds than IRL 2021..
Regarding the high speed might mostly be more fear on my part and the fact the preset setups are all understeery (stiffer front, more rear downforce).. but in general those setups shouldnt be oversteery at high speed from what i saw, just rarely and then possibly sharper setups.. - Nuvolarix4 years agoSeasoned Ace
Hi, this is an article maybe taken from the same interview:
Another lengthy video interview with Lee Mather out today below, with a few bits of new info. One bit I hadn't seen before is that pit stop mistakes can happen to take extra time and that in My Team you'll now be able to train mechanics to improve pit stop performance. Two less positive bits of info. are that crossplay will only be for social lobbies and 2-player career, and a strong implication that a Braking Point type element will be back next year ☹️.
- Meza9944 years agoSeasoned Ace@Ultrasonic_77 Yeah for some reason all big review people claim that Braking Point is a big loss this year and missed by the fans.. They are probably gonna do this each year changing, one year Braking Point (2.0 then 3.0 etc.) will take the major time effort of the team and the next year the F1 Life updates will take the time😂

- Meza9944 years agoSeasoned Ace@Ultrasonic_77 Yeah.. Either people got super low standards on story modes or they were payed for ther feedback😂
A glance at the Codemasters forum from around launch time would show plenty of negative feedback!
I get that Codemasters like the idea and it may well have helped to attract new players (I've no idea) but to suggest Braking Point was universally popular is nonsense.
