@Scottcook What would constitute "long term" in this case?
F1 forums moved here to EA Answers only this year, close to the release of F1 22. Before that all community activity took place mainly on Codemasters' own forum. It was like this for ages.
If you've been around by that time, you've most definitely come around Codemasters own staff posting there. Mostly Barry, our former Community Manager, but devs from the handling and audio team would often chime in.
If by long term you mean since these boards opened a few months ago, it's hard to miss the Q&A with David Greco, the main codemasters' dev for physics and handling of F1 games. The thread is literally pinned to this board main page. Brad Porter, the audio director, has posted plenty on audio related threads. You can even catch the guys from the telemetry service chatting around with none other than Iko Rein - absolute stud of the sim racing community as a whole and creator of one of the most robust telemetry tools available in the scene.
If you've been around for more than one game cycle you should also be familiar with the development stages of an annualized franchise like Codemasters' F1. The devs activity in the forums go up and down depending on how deep in the weeds they are with the game development. Right now it's pretty much all hands on deck on F1 23 development - or, as Barry would put it, a F1 related project which existence he could neither admit or deny at this point in time 👌🏻
You'll probably catch whiff of the devs once things kick in on post production or perhaps even around the release window, when marketing picks up and dev time dials down. F1 22 is obviously still supported, but by a smaller, post production crew.
We should not expect any more major updates. As it was with F1 2021 by this time of the of year - and with F1 2020, F1 2019...
You can easily find all those games' patch history online. F1 2021 complete list of updates are available on its respective EA's webpage.
So by long time I guess you mean a couple months? Stick around. These boards have their own tide of users coming and going depending on how hot the F1 game and/or eSports scene are on the moment, but there's a core of veteran users that bridged the gap from the original forums closing down. You'll eventually get some good laughs and solid input from them.
This chap here for instance,
@ScarDuck14, has the equanimity and goodwill of a saint and will try his best to help a user out. If you've been around, you've seen that.
