I just went on to do the Weekly Event race but there were no other racers just AI. What’s happened, has everyone just moved onto something else? Real shame as I’ve been enjoying doing the weekly events on a GP weekend.
Really? That sucks. I'm planning to do a weekly event race myself at some point later today but hope it's not the same. May as well just use GP mode if it is!
What platform are you racing on out of interest? I play on Playstation and for context I've just checked and there were 9743 qualifiers, which isn't a huge number to be honest.
PlayStation too (PS5). I don’t know if there’s some bug in matchmaking as for the last few weeks I’ve been struggling to find any ranked lobbies with more than 2 or 3 people in. Seemed to coincide with the cross-play release.
@ScoobySiI know this is no help to you at all but for info. I raced at 22:00 UK time on PS5 and all 20 cars had real rather than AI drivers. The ranked lobby issue you mentioned I've commonly seen people complain of when they've ranked up a bit and got a decent safety rating so I'm going to guess you qualified fairly high up for the weekly event? I very much did not, due to a mix of not having had chance to practice Zandvoort at all before qualifying and (mainly) a lack on talent on my part, but perhaps there were fewer drivers of a similar standard to you trying to race when you did?
@Ultrasonic_77 hmm it could be but I wouldn’t have qualified that high. There’s obviously something got a bit messed up for me which is a shame. You’d think it would just rank me with the best available group.

Hopefully some more people will post to share their experiences and maybe shed some more light on what's going on.
I'd pay to have just an AI lobby. Most players are horrible and don't understand the concept of clean racing. You're lucky if you ask me

For someone whose sole focus is the final leaderboard position I can definitely see this. For myself if the Weekly Event race essentially became identical to what I could do in GP mode then it would render it a colossal waste of time. I play it specifically because it is a multiplayer event.
When i playing weekly event there normally is full lobby on PC
Doing the Singapore weekly event race tonight I was just one of four real players, which wasn't great. One DNFed on lap one, and another on lap 5 so there were only two of us at the end. Me a LONG way behind the other but at least I finished! I was caught out by not expecting the race to be in daylight which was frankly odd, and I'm not sure why this was chosen. Sadly I'd lost a front wing before I'd adjusted...
Not good to have so few real participants though ☹️.
