OPTION to Force Cockpit in multiplayer?

Is this finally going to be in F1 2022?  It's the one thing I'm waiting on being included before buying.

Essentially, it's necessary to create a fair and equal playing field for league racing.  Emphasis on Option because I know it's not needed by everyone, and not needed for casual online racing.

Thanks

EDIT:  I'm hearing this still isn't in the game, so another year of not buying, and not organizing leagues for it ☹️

@zed08je0ot2vThanks for talking sense in the discussion. To be honest this is a bit off topic as what OP requests is just an extra filter, but as threads like this are doomed to see the same talking points.

Referring to cockpit cam as the only "true" way to play as real F1 drivers don't sit on the halo or whatever is just silly and shortsighted. Feeling the forces through your body and having full use of your eyes (barring the helmet) is vital to driving these cars and yet people act like you were capable of getting the upper hand on the real deal by just switching to T-Cam.

There's an argument for making cockpit cam or any cam for that matter the default for competitions, but that's only to have some sort of standard. Arguing it is necessary for "realism" is plain out silly.

Immersion? Yeah, I can see that. Realism? Ludicrous.

Edit: Look at this fluke playing on T-Cam! Does he, like, not care about realism? /s

I'll ask the question of if we can get any objective analytics behind the idea, and try to figure out the true demand of such a addition. Its reward as a entire player base vs resource. Have to remember that we are more than willing to make additions, but we just need to find the numbers across the whole game to justify its addition and the expense of valuable dev time.

This should be hung on the wall 💗

I understand your side, but ABS for example has been OP since 2021.

What I mean: In SPA I'm 1 or 2 tenths faster than an opponent the whole track, then we get to the "Bus Stop", he brakes MUCH later, and recovers all the time it was behind, turning exactly the same time or fasters, because 1 hard brake point. If I do the same braking point, without ABS, I just go straight, regardless of configuration. That is, what was my reward for learning and drive without help? Answer: Seeing people slower, equalizing times because of unrealistic braking. And it's been that way for a long time. I'm used to being in the top 200-300 in the world at time trials, so I know when a rider is faster than me, or when he's being helped to be faster.

Now imagine that on every track, drivers who aren't that fast, matching lap times with unrealistic braking, and worst, fast experienced drivers, using ABS to use their natural potential + unrealistic late braking. That's what has happened in every league I know of.

Several aids penalize the driver's lap time, and that is to be congratulated, but for some reason, ABS doesn't have this "penalty", on the contrary, it is an aid that motivates others to use it, even if they have enough quality to not use. ABS had to add at least half a second per lap, just like other aids do (much more lap time by the way.).

@Jato_Italiano  Then please create a separate post on the issue and present your findings.

This is a thread on cockpit mode in multiplayer, not to be piggy-backed by ABS discussions.

Also, if it happens in 'every league' you are a part of, and if the league values that sort of realism, then just ask the league to turn it off. Theres a MP option to turn it off.

  • Nothing I haven't tried so far, as the game in general has a more friendly profile (As an example of this topic), it's hard to find leagues that use real-life settings , and/or leagues/drivers that want to get out of their comfort zone ☹️

But sure @BarryBL I will respect the topic of discussion. I finish here. 🙂
