Performance of The Cars

We gonna have the performance of the cars updated until the launch of the F1 22 Game yep?

For me the ranking of the cars this year is:

1. RBPT RBR/ Ferrari

2. Mercedes

3. Mclaren

4. Alpine

5. Alfa Romeo

6. Haas

7. Alpha Tauri

8. Aston Martin

9. Williams

  • Agree. I would also like, if possible, some kind of performance more (characteristics of the) track related, both cars and drivers, so that e.g. Mercedes may be faster in Miami but McLaren in Imola, Leclerc in Monaco, Sainz in Interlagos, etc.

Besides performance differentiated between Quali and Race (drivers and cars).

Don’t know what is already in the game. I also understand that a big amount of data would be necessary but may be really nice!

    Regards,

    Nuv

@NuvolarixActually there is plenty of possibilities to do this for the cars with the downforce levels, mostly low (Miami, Jeddah, Spa) and medium (spain, imola, australia) downforce.. At least in F1 2021 they were there dunno if still in F1 22 as now aero goes from 1-50.. Anyway in 2021 it was possible for modders to give each car e.g. different downforce/drag levels for each downforce package. So low downforce a team might have the highest top speed however in medium downforce they would have lowest top speed but highest cornering speed. The cornering speed would help for singapore and said team would perform well there, but e.g. in Silverstone they would struggle a bit more as there is a lot of max speed during the lap.

So it is possible with detailed and actually correct downforce packages for each car to simulate how they would perform IRL.

BUT the big downside on what you want is that to achieve it for each track especially for the drivers would require massive scripts. Scripts that would work in every season. One could say that for this "real season start" it is a nice idea, to really have exactly the real life season, but for normal career mode its really bad having 10 seasons a very similar order for each track.

PS. regarding the car performance table its currently changing a lot.. Alpine going down again from fighting Merc for P3 now possible worse than McLaren and Aston Martin actually on the edge of breaking into the midfield.. Cant expect too much from Codemasters here because by the time the game comes out the packing order could be a lot different again

  • Don't worry, each year, we have the last season performance from September, then the performance update is based on the first 5 races of the current season while everything changed IRL since... Don't see why 2022 could be different.

  • We I'll have a day one Maj performance? Because now it's Bahrain performance, so the 1st July do we have a new Maj?

I think it was A LOT later than that last year.

To be honest, I think the car performance is fine. It should be based off Bahrain and the teams like McLaren, Aston and Williams should be able to develop up the field with their cheaper upgrades. I'd maybe bump all three a little closer to the field but keep them the bottom three.

What needs changing really is a few of the drivers stats and the personnel boosts further reduced (looks like its 5/7/10 for each tier this year?).

If drivers like Vettel and Ricciardo had the right pace stat they would naturally be closer to the other teams. Norris is a good example. He has a very high pace stat so even though his car is slower hes still fighting the Alpine, Haas and Alpha cars. Vettel at around 88 or 89 and Ricciardo around 86 and probably Albon at 83 or 84 would be a better balance.

@Liaveal I dont agree with the performances.. At least in a top speed comparison i saw yesterday all teams where within 4 kph maximum top speed.. IRL its around 12 kph so the way the cars are balanced is pretty bad again, not giving cars the correct characteristics like McLaren having great downforce and mechanical grip but by far worst top speed costing them around tracks like Baku but on tracks like Monaco they truly shine, just like Norris did..

That i dont agree with the driver ratings is well known but Albon 83 while outperforming Latifi even more than Russel did? Meh.. But no use discussing them, we just need an editor.
