Petition for EA/Codies to Look at their Forums!

Petition for EA and Codemasters to look their forums! (Particularly the General Discussion forums.)

So, EA and Codemasters don’t look at their own forum nearly enough. 
When there are people discussing important things about the F1 game, they need to listen to their community! 
At the end of the day, this is where they get their money from, so what we are talking about should be of some value to them.

    Alright. So you’re definitely saying that they don’t check their forums any more. Because you say I’m ‘a little late’, and that they ‘won’t be engaging with you, me or anyone’, which is quite disappointing, and is to my point - why don’t they check the forum (now)?

    And it’s not engagement with developers for the sake of engaging with developers that I want. Like you (I hope), I’m passionate about THIS game, and wish the best for it.

    I also just want to say, I don’t at all want to have argument here. Just wanting to share thoughts and ideas, and discuss the current problems.

    How do you know the dev team don’t look at the forums to see what the community wants.

    Little info about @DavidG53  He’s the lead handling and physics dev. He’s also a massive motorsport fan and a sim racing legend… sorry God!!

    Because how many of the threads on the General Discussion section have the ‘E’ (EA) logo to the left of the number of replies the thread has? 
    Well, the answer is, in the top 9 posts, only 1 of them has this logo on it. 

    For those who don’t know, if a post has an EA logo on it, it means that it has been posted on/viewed by an EA staff member.

    @Radoko34 No it means EA staff have either posted or marked a post as a solution.

    EA community managers read every single thread and post.

    Just because the dev team or EA don’t post doesn’t mean they are not looking

    Thanks for the clarification @ScarDuck14. 

    It would be nice though if they could recognise that they have seen/read a post by either replying or simply having something that displays the fact that they have done this. 

    Also, you said this on my other thread:

    ‘It’s a shame Codemasters don’t engage on here like the good old days,  other than @jenny_a_m  occasionally popping her head in the door.’

    So I don’t know what you mean by   ‘EA community managers read every single thread and post’   when you also said the above on the other thread.

    (Not by any means having a go at you, just hoping you understand why I’m a bit confused as to where you stand on this topic.)

    @Radoko34On Codemasters forums. @BarryBL The forum administrator did and knew everything game related. From bug reporting testing, Helping members with issues that were on their end. Not to mention a great sim racer himself. He was also a great guy that everyone liked very much and he had a direct line with the devs.

    But even so he wouldn’t post anything about the game except official announcements.

    @Radoko34 Reading a thread and posting on it are different things entirely. That's what Duck is referring to.

    Codemasters can still take notice of an issue or suggestion posted in the forums and take the appropriate action to sort it out in the game even if they don't post or actively engaged in said thread.

    The point he's mentioning as being better in the old days was how this process could often be more transparent.

    It has absolutely nothing to do with the forums being overlooked, as they sure are not. Case in point, the Q&A Duck linked.
    You would do well reading it to get an insight on how development works.

    Thanks for your helpful answer @mariohomoh.

    I hope you can still understand though, why it is unclear where you stand @ScarDuck14 because of the conflicting things you have said.

    Although I gather you believe that the developers do look at the general discussion forum. 

    Is there a way you think they could better communicate with their community, and have proper discussions with us as to our feedback and ideas? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.

    @Radoko34 What like David Greco listening to members like Mario and Meza and implementing their ideas into the next handling model or even the likes of confusing me and how better to improving and optimising controllers.

    Or the lead audio developer asking for feedback on last years games audio.

    You’re a little late. They won’t be engaging with you, me or anyone now. They certainly won’t be looking to add anything to the game that hasn’t already been decided months ago. As they are all alittle busy right now developing the upcoming game.

    If it’s engagement with developers you want I suggest finding a indie developer who’s game you like

    @Radoko34 Because there is no point. Every that’s going to be in the upcoming game was decided months ago. And with the new F1 season about to start. From now until the new game is released they will obviously be hard at work do there best to get the game finished
