Please Sir… Can ask a PS5 question? Using words?
I know the answer is no I’ll have to risk shunting while I search through the MFD.
However.
Obviously I was disappointed when I started the game for the first time to see for the second year running voice control on PS5 isn available. However we were led to believe it was an issue on Sonys end as PS5 didn’t have voice control. Fair enough.
But PS5 has now had voice control for some months. But still no voice control. Which I admit even though it’s not easy looking for the right option on the MFD whilst driving st insane speeds. I have memorised and become accustomed to how many ups and downs and next menus I have to use to get to the questions I ask the most. Weather, car condition. Etc. so I can manage.
But what I don’t like and gets me shouting at the screen is. During. Every practice session whilst in the pit. Jeffs replacement will offer up some helpful tips.
And one off those is. Telling me how I can either manually ask a question or I can just speak the command. Is this ment as a joke cause at first I hahaa🙄but having to hear it every time Practice session. It’s actually starting to aggravate me.
So as the engineer is so keen to keep informing me about voice control I assume it will be added very very soon? Yes? I didn’t think so

In game speech recognition on PS5 is not supported, this is a dashboard console function that is not available to us for use in game.

I reponded on the Codemasters forums a lot over the years and tried to answer as many audio related issues as I could. I did this off my own back, I'm not obliged to use the forums or respond to posts - I doubt you'll find many developers who do reply to posts because when they do they're often hit with increasing demands, sarcasm or abuse. I sense a lot of sarcasm from your posts, when this happened on the Codies forums I blocked or ignored users and answered those who were polite, patient posters. I've answered questions about voice recognition many times and these posts can still be found now so I doubt I purposly ignored you. Here is one such instance:

See above link to the Codies forums where I directly address voice chat on PC, Xbox and PS platforms. I may not have responded directly to you but I've responded to these questions last year.

As mentioned above, the PS5 has voice recognition on the dashboard, we as developers cannot directly access this.
