@Meza994It all depends on what you meant by "push".

For example, when drivers are "saving their tires", it doesn't really meant they're gonna just cruise around. Instead, in most cases they could still maintain quite a competitive pace, it was just that they aren't as "liberate" on how they use the tires compare to when they "push".

How you maintain the weight shift, how you maintain the tire flex when changing direction, how you maintain your tires x pace when you're chasing someone, dealing with dirty air...Tire managing is truly an art form, and it certainly wasn't just about throttle controlling.

Tiarniaduk.:. Yes whatever.  The Australian fellow that posts on YouTube just raced imola in his second my team season.  Was raining.  Five or 6 laps from end. Rain cleared up drs was enabled. He flew into pits from 3rd and changed to softs. Came out in 16th I think:  ai stayed out on old inters.  Within a lap track was dry.  I’ve been in this same situation hundreds off times in last years game. And I was off the same opinion as the duk guy.  Any second he’s just gunna monster the ai.  Any second now.. hmm ok maybe next lap.  Nope he didn’t even catch 15th.  Why?  Despite ai being on old inters on a track that had been properly dry for minimum off 3 laps/.  We’re all going faster:  Duk guy was only lapping half a second faster on new softs than 15th place driver.  And remember Duk was in third place when he pitted. So he had race pace.  And like me he was completely lost.,  he genuinely came across completely dejected

And also Jarnos latest race at  Monza:  started to voice his frustrations at the ai speed towards the end off the race.  When normally her just laugh about it. He said he swears ai have unlimited ers at end off race 

@Nylink  Yes I heard him:  growl he was using negative wings.  Watched so many off his vids. First time I’ve heard him question ai performance. And not just once but a few times.  Monza is obviously the track that’s going to exaggerate any overpowered acceleration and speed.

I did a Miami test yesterday, as I've been told it's 1 of the hardest against AI. Still just 25% race and 75. Here's the result. I'll post times shortly. Damn @ScarDuck14  that is an unbelievable event of circumstances for the Aussie. I bet he's still trying to work it out now!! About Jarno complaining, he's right to complain, but I think he's complaining about the wrong thing. I watched a couple more replays from the AI cars. And what most do is use a lot for the first 2 laps. Then not so much until there in and out laps. Then very little to none until the final sector of the penultimate lap. Then they hammer it. So the question I'm asking is how are they so fast while not using the ERS. Looking at these Miami results and I thought Alonso would be a good watch. And an Interesting 1 as he had decided to do the opposite strategy. So if you use @Meza994 logic about why max was faster on his hard compared to his softs in The Spain test earlier. He should be at least a few seconds a lap quicker. He wasn't.

Alonso just kept around the same pace. And his final lap wasn't as fast, not cos he had no ERS, but the fact he was battling Russell all lap.

Oh, and yes like most I lost places going down the long straight, which was the same at Baku

I hadn’t mentioned cause my posts are  to long as it is.  But I do look at all drivers times in race director. And when I see ai drivers who haven’t dramatically sped up. It is always because they are competing with other ai into corners obviously compromising their speed.  

I believe the ai speed up is by to design to make last few races more exciting.  Not necessarily rubber banding in the true sense. And not scripted to purposely slow your progress.  But just to give you more off a challenge. But if it’s the case it shouldn’t happen as often or with such obvious increase off pace and bonkers aggressive at every corner. 

What I was reading was Max In Spain went on average 0.4 faster going from soft to hard at least 2 compounds more., while here at Miami with Alonso I was expecting him to go a lot faster going from Medium to soft at least 1 compound better, something like 1.6/ 2 seconds better on average. Yet his average went as follows

medium average 1.33.608

soft average 1.33.236 only 0.372 faster around the same as max did at Spain. And the difference between his 2 fastest times on the different compounds was only 0.8 faster.

Here at Miami, Max's average was soft to medium

soft 1.33.320

medium 1.33.003 So again at least 1 compound more but still went faster 0.3 Yes Alonso had a battle last lap but had a clear track after his pit stop.

I'm sure I heard there should be a 1-second gap between each compound (0.250 25% race) but can't find any information about it, so If anyone can provide a link to the difference in time between the C1,C2,C3,C4 & C5 that would be great.

How not to solve the problem is to remove the AI lap times from race director, something we have had for years. I bet they would never stop you looking at your opponents after match statistics on FIFA, of course not. Why remove the lap times now? My fault? because i like to number crunch.

@Meza994But surely Alonso shouldn't be having problems passing Russell the first time he gets DRS uses his ERS has fresher, softer tyres and a slipstream. It's meant to be easier to overtake this year, but in game with everything going in your favour it's still a struggle for the AI, never mind the player.

Might have to dig the PlayStation 2 out and see if this still works, lol.

But lap after lap, I wasn't getting close to overtaking on level 75. But I'd done all the overtaking Saniz had to do at Saudi on the weekly challenge on level 90. So it's not as if I don't know how to do it.

You overestimate the difference it makes with fresh tyres, the Softs are only about 6 tenths faster than the Medium in Miami..

Its just a rumour with 1s gap between compounds, IRL its actually more 0.4-0.5s between each tyre but C1 1s slower than C2 but these gaps depend on the track!! in the game each compound is 2% grip apart of the next which makes an average gap of 0.5-0.7s

Regarding the race director idk why they changed it, stupid change really.
