I really don’t understand all the complaints about the straight line speed. When I play GT and career I match the AI on the straights if I get a good corner exit to that straight. And if I do, I can overtake them if I have managed my ers. It just requires patience and choosing when to attack.
if the straight line speed was slower I’d just easily pass the cars matching the performance of my car.
if I try to overtake a Ferrari with a Williams then of course it will be hard to overtake them because they probably can get a better corner exit and get up to speed quicker.

It’s unbalanced.. the devs are working on it as it’s widespread consensus amongst the community including you tube gurus and world e-sport drivers that it is a issue.
All ai monster slow corners onto straights doesn’t matter what car they are driving. And mainly effect career and my team modes - Btrgamble3 years agoRising Scout
I know it is an acknowledged issue that is being looked at. I just fail to see the issue being so severe that the game is “unplayable”. It might fit me perfectly when fixed, and I might be able to increase the ai so they take some corners a bit faster. But as it is now I am faster than the ai in some corners, equal to them in some corners, and slower in some corners.
The point being, I know when I’m not going to rocket past the ai on the straight already when I exit the corner if I know I’m performing worse and taking the corner bad. If I get a good exit and it is a good spot on the track to overtake I can often overtake or at least give them a fight for the position.
I’m all up for a tweak making it better, but I do not think the game is in such a horrendous state that so many claim it is.
