Re: Can we expect more track changes for the BETA tracks in the release version?

@Meza994 Oh I didn't know there are videos scheduled tomorrow, that's very exciting. But yeah, we'll see tomorrow then.

Yeah exactly, my point with this post is that it's great that the physics are improved, I love that. And they work very well on most tracks.

But the problem is that some tracks are just so inaccurate that the improved physics doesn't matter. Canada for example has the flattest kerbs in the game, even though IRL the kerbs are huge.

For example, you can just drive through the kerbs at the chicane, but those kerbs would make your whole car jump if it was accurate. And it's not even fixed in F1 22, because in the trailer they showed the cars driving through these kerbs.

I really hope we get no tracks after release, but instead track updates, I'm sure most people would prefer that.

@Tibi2199 I agree with everything till the last sentence. I would prefer getting Sepang, Hockenheim and Istanbul park haha but as even one of those would likely take more work than updating 90% of the tracks its obvious which is the better solution for this year..

@Tibi2199 I'm guessing the data mining you're referring to comes from the telemetry UDP specs. These are legacy data sets from previous games that people just never bothers to expunge - not broken, so...

Pretty much every year we get the same rumour floating around.

The official track list is yet to be released, but in a rare spin of wishful thinking I'm expecting Portimao and others that were already included in the released material so far - e.g. icons on championship mode teasers - to be available at Day 1, and DLC tracks to include others. The only reason being the inescapable backlash of "you teased us, they need to be there" for their absence on release day and the bad rep of arguably misleading advertising.

Just don't get your hopes that up high.

Now for track updates, I wouldn't expect anything other than recoloring for kerbs and the like. They'll probably revisit the track layouts only after meaningful updates. Even Spa, I don't think we'll be getting it in this game.

  • @EA_KentWhat can players do to highlight the issue to the devs? What's a limiting factor apart from the AI training? Thanks.

@Tibi2199As i thought, Jeddah has still the same flat kerbs.. Such a shame and Spa aswell not changed at all.

PS. visually at least, potentially increased the height of the tracks or whatever to make you spin if not carefull but the kerbs still look flat (just like Monza in F1 2021)

  • Zandvoort looks to have changed to the correct kerb colours,  supercar video showing between sector 2 to 3.

Jeddah correct kerb colours, not sure if the walls have been altered like real life.

Hungary, Bahrain, Great Britain, Monza, Brazil and Austria no changes.

@mariohomoh Yeah it was most likely that UDP thing, I was pretty sure it was fake because it had the Short tracks that were previously in the game, only thought that it might be true because a big youtuber covered it. But yeah, I shouldn't have trusted a youtuber lol

But yeah, you were right, I knew Spa wouldn't be changed, but not a lot of tracks were. I really hope this time around they will change them in future updates. But that means they get no money from it, so who knows if they would want to do that..

    Truer words, hard to find.

I for one am moderately excited to see what Tiametmarduk, Aarava & co. have to say when trying to make sense out of the expected handling changes.

  • @Meza994 Yeah it sucks that they couldn't make the kerbs elevated, would've been great.

What's funny is that they did change Spa, but the only thing was the chicane kerb, and they correctly colored it from orange to red.

Only problem is that it's still waay too flat compared to real life.

And from the Alex video you linked, the another weird thing is that for Hungaroring, they still haven't fixed the chicane, but they remodeled the building in the pit lane.

The reason it's weird is because in the game it looks way bigger than real life. I have no idea what the reason was for changing it if they didn't make it accurate lol. They could've fixed the chicane, but they decided to work on this...

Accurate tracks are very important to racing games, and I still can't believe this isn't fixed. I hope they get to it next year.

And Spa too. Might as well go over all the tracks that are not laser scanned to get them accurate.

  • @Nylink I would hope at least one or two tracks could get updated in the course of the development of the game. Updated Australia looks brilliant now. I can't wait to drive there.

@pawel567 Those are the DLC tracks.. People getting hyped for more where just in their hope bubble because they wanted the game to give them more than a virtual T-Shirt for 5€..

IMO they will be added post launch or maybe day one

@Blackbird90 True but on the other side they need to make like 2 new tracks? Qatar and Las Vegas will be new in 2023. So remaking a few corners might be possilbe (Bus stop, Mexico Esses, Jeddah kerbs, Canada kerbs etc.) but i wouldnt get my hopes up.. They get the money to have more people working on it but seem to not want, just like EA go about FIFA

From an impact vs time investment perspective I'd personally put the Baku change high on any to-do list.

@Ultrasonic_77 Yeah same apart from this castle section, Baku has one other problem that I think is important to fix. It's actually one corner before the castle section, and the problem is the kerb is too flat, here's a picture:

In real life, drivers, and Leclerc doesn't even touch the kerb with their inner wheels, simply because the kerb is pretty high, and would make the car unsettle. However, in the game, the kerb is waay too flat, and you can just drive straight through it, like it's not there. This of course creates an "esports-driver racing line", which I'm pretty sure the devs don't really want, so they need to increase the height of the kerb in order to fix.

Apart from this, the track is perfect. They done a great job fixing Turn 1.

I think if we take impact and time investment in perspective, the other tracks that should be changed are Hungary and Austria.

All Hungary needs is the new chicane, some double-layered, and it would be perfect.

And Austria only needs the double-layered kerbs, and also the bigger sausage kerb after T1 that I showed in my pictures previously.

I feel like these tracks would be a very easy fix, they could even do it before release if they wanted to. But I'm sure EA is still asking the devs right now to paint boxers in every color, just so that it can be sold for 3 dollars.

    Hey @Blackbird90

You're always welcome to share feedback on the game here. We'll be passing along player feedback as we see it.

The more detail you can include in your feedback, the better. I may not always be able to come back with a detailed response from the dev team, but I'm always happy to pass feedback along.

  • @EA_Kent Thanks for the response to the post.

I would like to ask a question about the team that works on tracks.

Are they going to fix/change the existing tracks like Monza, Canada, Baku etc. (the tracks that are not accurate in the game). Or can we only expect changes for the next years game?

Because if they would fix the existing tracks this year, and it would also get passed over to the team, then I would make a seperate post and highlight the things that need to be changed more clearly.
