- Cpayne323 years agoHero+@ScarDuck14 I saw this earlier. The fact Ronhaar isn’t saying anything is actually quite concerning
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@Cpayne32 I can’t see any way he can keep traction when full throttle on the apex. But then I use controller and have tons less skill than Ronhaar.
- Cpayne323 years agoHero+@ScarDuck14 Either he is really skilled or he is cheating but i don’t think he will admit anything though

Some have argued that it's a ploy to mask certain behaviour and give a believable reason to why the lack of comparative speed. However, I heard that the wheels that they have to use in competition already come with load cell pedals 🤷
Who knows but from the above video and plenty of other videos, there's plenty of examples for people to be suspicious, even if there is no conclusive proof and the person who checked Ronhaar's PC has offered no other credentials other than that he found somebody else cheating.
- Hempyjr3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Cpayne32 Even more concerning is that EA/Codemasters/F1Esports isn't saying anything. Like i said in a post last week, if everything was fine i guess an official statement was out pretty fast, the fact they are not saying anything, at least for me it meens something is not right there with at least 1 player and they are working to see if somebody else was involved or how to handle this situation which is a sensible one.

@HempyjrThis is over the biggest stinker of all of it. With all the speculation, all racing leagues have now been thrown into doubt. With drivers driving very aggressively towards Ronhaar in PSGL/WOR, it makes the sport look bad. The continuing silence from the eSports organisers and EA/CM show that they aren't willing to talk about the issue and create a platform where everyone can race fairly.
ACC have a similar cheating scandal in parallel to this one at the moment. However, the developer, Kunos have somewhat acknowledged the problem and added a new community manager who is interacting with the community about various other issues too. - ScarDuck143 years agoLegend
I personally think the load cell thing is a ploy. It’s the typical kind of response from a young person that lacks life experience, that is trying to cover up wrongdoing. It’s a weak and obvious excuse to those off us that have been round the block a plenty off times and tried the same weak excuses when we were young
- Cpayne323 years agoHero+@Hempyjr Yeah it sure is concerning. This is why F1 23 must have some form of anti cheat system and a much better reporting system. I refuse to play ranked online because i just get taken out intentionally so don’t bother
- Cpayne323 years agoHero+@TotosHeadphones The recent incidents with Ronhaar is just crossing the line completely. At the end of the day it is just an allegation and bot proof. If he isn’t cheating then fair play but when you have Jarno being as vocal as he has you have to feel something is there
My take: there is no way EA/Codemasters can declare that there weren't issues in the last official eSports when they clearly have a significant number of the top participants highlighting concerns. Nothing can or will be done retrospectively as far as I can see and we need to focus on what happens in the future.
- Hempyjr3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Cpayne32 Well that's why i don't play social racing. Waiting 10 minutes to get into a race and then being smashed at the first corner or in the first lap and it's done, waiting another 10-15 minutes for another race. Online i play only in a league with my brother and a friend against AI obviously. What raise me some questions about Ronhaar is that in some videos you can clearly see him missing the apex and keeps carying on like nothing happen and loses way too less time or nothing at all. If i take a corner similar to him, with AI level 90, i lose 0.5 or even 0.7 instantly, not to mention AI level 110 or esports players.

It is an allegation, the on track behaviour and online abuse isn't warranted. But I've said many times before, there is nothing wrong with with being suspicious especially when nothing has been said by the driver to refute the claims, there's some unexplained driving in videos and his peers have been told not discuss the issue while also dropping out of certain competitions.
Would it honestly make any difference if Thomas put out a tweet saying that he wasn't cheating? The only response from him that actually might make any difference to the current situation is if he admitted that he was cheating.

I don’t condone online abuse in any way shape or form. Find it disgusting. I won’t say anything online I’m not prepared to say to someone’s face. In fact I’m more civil to people online than I am in the real world.
However…. I can’t help but enjoy spicy racing and loved the France race in particular. This could also explain why Ronhaar isn’t doing so well now. As every driver is now going to extreme lengths against him wheel to wheel. Every driver he tries to pass at the very least squeeze or push him wide

This is true but there are ways that he could have helped the scenario. For instance, it's well known that he has come from Xbox, if he still has the platform he could post time trial laps that come relatively close to the world records he's set on PC. He could show races on that platform. Yes, there'll be certain factors that may not allow it but some sort of effort to do something is good for optics.
Even just acknowledgement of the issue is better than silence as silence can make someone look guilty, whether they are or not.
Edit: Besides, some sort of explanation regarding his telemetry would go a long way. If he is prodigious and he may be, that it does appear that he's doing something that isn't technically possible to do in the game without an aid and also isn't setup related. Just a hint of how he's achieving would allay suspicions. Obviously eSport drivers are unlikely to give away secrets to why they're so fast but bending the game as he's doing in some instances must be noted. With Otis/Elite, we could see how he was able to get on the throttle so quickly etc

I agree. If I had eSports Champion qualities like Ronhaar I would show them on Xbox, PS or even NES if needed! And I would have done that a long time ago. Then I know it takes all kinds.
However, it is a serious problem for the game, for its popularity (and even for the huge prize pools in eSports) 😞

Most of the time, these lobbies provide fair racing.
- Hempyjr3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Blackbird90 Thanks for the suggestion, i will give it a try tonight after my little baby boy goes to sleep and see how is going there with 25% or 50% race distance.
- @TotosHeadphones To be clear my comment above related to what Thomas Ronhaar could say, as distinct to practical things he could actually do if he were 'clean' and wanted to prove it. I suspect his silence may well be down to advice or even instruction from Haas too.
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend
Or or… He maybe a big fan of the royals and seen how they dealt with the Markles. And thought yeah lets keep silent and carry on 😂
- Cpayne323 years agoHero+@ScarDuck14 That a can of worms we don’t need to open again. It was painful enough the first time 😂
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@Cpayne32 Markles are worm 💩😂
- Cpayne323 years agoHero+@ScarDuck14 Yeah
I love how Ronhaar is just continuing to mind his own business through all of this and is still doing league races 😂😂 But he is in a pretty bad spot now, he could come out with a statement and a detailed video explaining all the "suspicious findings", but would anyone believe him at this point🤔Here's Ronhaar replying to F1's twitter about Alonso's uno-reverse penalty and see the replies:

I don't think this thing with Ronhaar will ever go anywhere - ever, but, hopefully this has created a big enough of a fuss so anti-cheat gets implemented and then there will be no doubts moving forward 🙂- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@v8u5jco54ukp I don’t think it will either.. But going forward I hope that good things come from it.
