Re: F1 22 - Game Crashing, Lagging, Faulty + All data lost:

I have a solved case

124232986 which isn’t solved at all, below is my issue:

Hi, I’ve been playing f1 2021 for a while and never had an issue until last week, for some reason when I would load the game up with the wheel it would take 20 minutes to actually reach a game and then once in the game it would only read my steering input for the first second from where it lets the human take over so on a flying lap. The wheel works with games like assetto corsa and project cars so I don’t think it’s a wheel issue?? The other thing is that when I load with controller that works fine, it reads all input even after the wheel cuts out I can take over on controller. I’m using a g920 on an Xbox one. I then thought it was just the f1 2021 game so I decided to spend 79 dollars on f1 2022 and I am having g the very same issue. I don’t know what to do, have you guys heard of this issue before? It only happens with your games.

Don't use the controller when a wheel is present. The G920 should be acting as the primary controller.

@SteveJacksonEven when I load it with no controller connected it doesn’t work. Using just the wheel is what breaks the game.

Ensure you are not using XBox Insider.

Try updating the wheel on a PC using GHub (there is an update for the G920). Test in GHub for correct operation.

Try different USB ports. Restart the XBox and don’t use snooze mode.

Perform usual house keeping on console rebuild storage or consider uninstall / reinstall or new save game.

    Good luck!

  • @SteveJackson None of those things have worked man, I downloaded 22 because 21 was stuffed. I might see if I can get a refund cuz it’s only been a week

Please let me know if/when this gets resolved. Been at it for the last few hours. Earlier today it was working fine, my console updated at 3pm and ever since, I’ve had all the same symptoms as everyone on here. Thurstmaster TMX, Xbox one S, F1 22. I’ve tried every suggestion on this thread and the other 4 threads talking about the same issue. Nothing has worked. Help…..

  • @ozzy1298 The suggestions don't seem to be correct on both this thread and my original thread ("Re: F1 22 - Game Crashing, Lagging, Faulty + All data lost:") all seem to be wrong. I think it is an EA based problem but I have hard reset, reinstalled everything even made new ea and xbox accounts and done full software updates but nothing. I am going to try and contact EA on the weekend once I'm free.
  • Unfortunately, it's not EA case, happened with my Forza Horizon 5 too. 😔 I have G920

I've been following this thread because my mates are having the same issue on old gen consoles. I submitted a ticket to EA and quoted this thread, they said it's already in hand and an update should be coming soon so it is definitely an EA issue not an Xbox one. The insider programme is unlikely to be a contributing factor.

They didn't give any timescale but said it's being rolled out asap which is good news I suppose.

There was an update last night that I was hoping would be the fix but even after the update, still same problem. I’ll keep watching. It’s comforting to hear that everyone else is experiencing the same issue lol I was worried my steering wheel or Xbox was done for.

  • Hello! i had an update yesterdar (10/20) from xbox and starting from that moment my logitech g920 is completely useless when trying to play f1 2021 and f1 2022. works well on xbox menu but when i launch any of these games it is not only that the game is super slow (only when logitech g920 is plugged) also is not recognized during the race, its like it takes 1 minute to actually detect any interaction.

tried everything, factory reset of xbox, reinstall game, played around with several configs, no results, at this point i'm happy to see that is not only me

  • Hiya, my son is having the exact same issue on Xbox One with F1 2021, again in the last week. The game is unplayable and then ok when the wheel is unplugged. Not sure what's changed???? Any help would be appreciated as my son is going mad! He also can't play Forza Horizon either....#help

@zvwa1hzeu1ck Unfortunately this seems to be effecting every Xbox/wheel user. Interesting your not the only person to also mention issues with Forza. I have flagged the issue. However I only realised this was effecting so many people a few hours ago. Obviously being late on Friday. 😔
  • Cheers pal! I'll keep an eye on this post then, hopefully they find a fix!? I wonder what's changed so suddenly, had there been an Xbox update? Or game update?

With Forza when the wheel is plugged in you just get the weirdest sound through the TV, it hates it! I'm now thinking we don't have a busted wheel like I told him earlier 😉

@zvwa1hzeu1ck I’m a PlayStation FanOAP so I don’t know Xbox. But Im pretty sure your wheel is fine as so many have posted with same problems. Think you’ll have to give your son, ‘when I was your age’ talk whilst handing him the controller.
  • Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂....I'll let you know how that convo goes!

  • Not sure if this is an issue thats on EA or Xbox as the issue started right after a xbox update

  • @ScarDuck14 From my perspective this started ~2 weeks ago and has since been unuseable just for F1 22 and 21. 2020 still works as it isn't an EA Game. Many others have stated that EA games such as FIFA are similar. The controller kinda works but the game is still unuseable and the wheel is worse still. In my opinion in it is an EA Related problem but I know people are having slightly different problems.

@PaddyM67456 Sorry fella as I’m on ps5 so don’t normally pay that much attention to PC/Xbox issues. Cause I’ve have little to no knowledge on them. But today a load off posts have been posted on every board in various threads all with the same problem. So having read all off them just posting on the many threads anything mentioned that may help you guys.

Have you tried starting game whilst offline? Just a randomthought. If it’s affecting other EA games. EA has launched a load off new games over last few weeks. Could be connecting to EA with so many people playing new games could be the issue. Im completely guessing. I’m a gamer not a techy

Good news! The issue has been fixed in the latest Xbox update. At the moment it is only available to Xbox Insider program users, if you sign up for it and install todays update the issue is resolved (on Xbox one X with g923 wheel at least!)

You can sign up for the insider program to get the update, or just wait for it to be rolled out to all users. No idea when that will be though. The update notes can be found here:

@tsmullet 👍. They started rolling out the fix yesterday. It’s a shame you have to make sure your apart off the insider program. And have to wait for general release
