I will check in on you in another hour!
- Alastre3 years agoNew Traveler@rjboodell What can i say...it looks like they did it...I'm still playing..no problems at all...
Along with not crashing, will someone please tell us whether they fixed the out of sync head tracking that makes you nauseous? And, is it still extremely blurry at distance?
I’m home early. Time to check. On your head be it! ;p
- @nicka117 i've tried 1.09, the out of sync head tracking is still there, the jittering is still there.
@Stampede_251 Thanks....figured as much. Sad. Maybe climax studios is working on it but who knows.
I just tried the game again. After the latest patch, the jittering got even worse.
They continue to amaze me.
But hey, at least they fixed driver number 23 right?!
Time to delete the game and do a fresh installation.
Hopefully that will work (snorts copium)
1,09 does nothing for head tracking problems. They have outsourced the VR to another studio so it won't get fixed anytime soon.
- @furfoots where can i read about this? the other studio.
To recap:
1. shouldn't have to have more frames than headset refresh rate to not have nausea inducing stutters. this is a bad implementation
2. the trade-off between FPS and visual quality is dire, unseen even in very old games
3. head tracking is out of sync, that is to say, there is a significant latency between head movement and the corresponding movement in the display. How has this really obvious bug not been fixed yet?
I have a 3090 and get great frame rates, but as soon as I move my head in VR the tracking goes weird and makes me feel sick almost instantly.
Please, for the love of God, EA please fix this issue. Just buy the same hardware as me if you have to:
Quest 2
3090
Intel 10900k
SSD
Logitech g92 wheel
Fanatec CSL Elite pedals with load cell
Windows 11
As others have said, this jitter is not visible on the main screen, just in VR.
Scrolling through other people's comments where they discuss performance problems is annoying because that is not what this issue is. This is just a bug
Tried 1.09 on my setup: Quest 2 with link cable, RTX 3080.
The lag when you move your head is still there. I try to avoid it as much as I can because sometimes it's nausea inducing. The jitters when you are in the pits are still there, but it's being a lot better since 1.07 or 1.08 if I remember right, so apparently they did something to at least mitigate this issue.
I'm still experiencing Steam VR crashes after a couple of flashbacks. The VR image freezes when the game load the 2D screen to show you the replay when flashback is selected. If I don't do flashbacks, it seems the game don't crash. When it crashes, I have to close and restart the game AND Steam VR tough.
They had removed the weird legend in the monitor window when I put off the headset. Now I can use that screen to navigate the menus, make setup changes, etc. without needing to wear the headset. This seems to have solved the game crash I had when I wear off the headset for a while (when I go to have a coffe break for example)
I have found some settings combination which gives me good and solid frametimes for my system, with a very acceptable image quality, so when racing I have a really good experience (besides the head tracking lag I mentioned before).

no way, .8 and .9 did absolutely nothing for VR.
it is still a mess after all those patches.
they didn't even touched vr stuff
It seriously worries me.
Too me it looks like they don't even recognize the vr community of this game. Wouldn't surprise me if this issue doesn't even see a fix this year.
This thread has been going since the launch of this title.
Do they even care about the vr community?
@EZ-Redi just bought iRacing. VR is amazing there. I'm gonna contact Steam support to see if they will refund F1 22 (I spent fricking days trying to tweak settings and trying to fix it (eg. with OpenComposite) so now I am not eligible for a refund.
- @furfoots thank you. BTW EA you can delete my posts tagging developers / EA / Codemasters people, it doesn't change reality, which is that you released a terrible VR implementation that is mostly unusable.

@45520ebf14055b89I‘ wrote a ticket at the support and ask, how they patch the VR issues.
They answer me the following: Here you have all infos about VR. https://www.ea.com/de-de/games/f1/f1-22/news/f1-22-vr
This answer is really a joke. They kidding us.
For me, I don‘t buy anymore a Game from EA. - Silvercrow19833 years agoNew Adventurer@furfoots if you look at the date, you will see its from May 22. The VR Mode was produced the entire time from this studio.
Does anyone know if the vr studio has Twitter or support?
Maybe we can reach out to them collectively (petition or something like that)
Just to make our voices heard, EA isn't doing anything
- Silvercrow19833 years agoNew Adventurer
Good idea but that won't do anything. The studio developed the VR mode in this catastrophic state and passed it on to EA CM. We'll must accept that we dont become a fix for the problems until the next F1 game.
For me, I hope Amazon finally buying EA.
- @EZ-Red i'm down. Let's just talk to them on twitter. What was the studio name again?
- @EZ-Red Climax Studios @climaxstudios on twitter, it seems to be them. Guys let's very politely ask them about the situation and if they could talk to EA to get it fixed.
Did it, here you can see my tweet. Feel free to tweet them as well, lets keep it civil, but make our voices heard!
- Silvercrow19833 years agoNew Adventurer@EZ-Red nice. I like your post on twitter. I hope you become an answer.
Thank you, i checked their answer history and mentioned tweets, but not much there.
Could yall also tweet them?
I think i might send them a DM if they dont respond.
Might make a poll as well.
Reply to this with poll if you want me to create one.
Might do some good for the VR community.
Cheers
