@up100 Yeh I agree. I guess I shouldn’t read too much into the trailer as it is a marketing tool, and in that sense it does a good job. I guess we’ll see for sure how accurate a depiction of the game it is once more gameplay footage comes along.
I just wish developers/publishers wouldn’t do this kind of thing and that they would be forced to showcase a game in a true and accurate way.
I don’t mean to bash the game so much and for the longest time I’ve been a staunch Codies defender given their size to some of the more bigger developers out there and loved what they did with the F1 games year on year. To me it was always a must buy as you felt the passion put into it and you knew the improvements year on year would be worth investing in.
F1 2021 destroyed that enthusiasm I’m sorry to say, as I could see the potential there underneath it all, but every time I try to invest time in the game I just come away feeling disappointed and frustrated with it. What happened to that new improved damage model from the early footage that was absent in the final game? Why did the change the handling so everyone uses “50%” brake bias for every setup? What happened to the classic cars? Where’s the overall polish and lack of bugs 10 months after it’s release?
I really wanted to see more in the way of improvements for F1 22 but from what little new features the game has, how similar it appears to be compared to F1 2021, and from what actual gameplay we’ve seen from the leaks so far it’s certainly not rebuilding that confidence I lost with F1 2021.
I really hope I’m wrong though, and I know the game states “work in progress”, but going by previous games very little changes between the pre-release and the final release bar the updated car models. It feels like all those extra resources everyone said could benefit the game with the EA takeover are yet to show, the only part they have showed is in the games marketing, and not in a positive way.
