The current Podium Pass is series 4, not 6. The last Podium Pass last year ran to pretty close to the launch of F1 22 didn't it? I'd expect similar with the current game.
I wouldn't expect new Podium Pass series to start after the launch of the next game though. As to 'why', I guess in part as encouragement to buy the new game.

As I did say above, my guess would be to encourage people to buy the new game. Plus it would involve continuing to produce updates for the old game, or a significant change to the game to store them all in one update that then loops.
It would similarly be good if the weekly events repeated on previous games but I suspect the reasons they don't are the same.
Whist I totally understand this sort of requested change, realistically I think the behaviour come the launch of F1 23 is unlikely to be different to previous games.
All I'm saying is when the last podium pass is finished, what happens... ? Is any remaining pitcoin useless? Does the daily store items continue to rotate, with possible old missed items from every past podium pass series available at random?

My comment reflected the fact that currently there is a game update at the start of every new Podium Pass series with the new content.
@Halpen4items in the podium past can only be obtained in that podium pass. Once they are gone they are gone.
The store will continue to rotate old in game store items

(To be fair, do you know any game series that allows transfer of in-game currency between releases? It's certainly not usual.)
...or that they add any other podium pass series item later to the daily or weekly store. I saw they had for the whole week once in the store all of the 4 items for the podium pass fish Chinese lantern items. Meaning the livery, the helmet, gloves and suit... All available to spend pitcoin on for each item. I am personally, most annoyed that for the series 3 pass we had that just ended. I was only able to reach level 28, and therefore missed one of the final items of the "speed slash" helmet. Even though I unlocked for free the suit, gloves and livery. Then to make matters even worse, I just found out... only by purchasing the latest podium pass series 4, that for only the VIP version you can spend 250 pitcoin per tier to level the pass up. So, after the fact I discover for 500 pitcoin I could have completed all of series 3 and by spending the 9000 pitcoin I would have earned it all back. As well as having everything included from Halloween too. It's just too bad how easy it is to overlook this feature, when it is kinda hidden within layers of the menu!!!
... Not to even mention how crazy this free series 4 is. The include gloves, but nothing that matches. Then they put the helmet or livery in the daily store. Meanwhile, there are at least two times where for 2 tier levels in a row there is no items!!
"Channels" and the "Lanes" items right now are the worse for missing parts of a full set within a podium pass series!! As well, I think the last level tier 30 for series 3 that just ended was the "galaxy" livery. Then for the first time on Tuesday of this week they had "galaxy" gloves in daily rotation store. But, I still have not seen a matching "galaxy" helmet or suit. This is how they frustrate completist, like me!!!
