Re: If you struggle with AI straight line speed | MyTeam

I had this "issue" in my first season as well with Renault engine. Just started the 2nd season, with a few upgrades and signed with Ferrari supplier. Now I'm still 3rd worst team but 3rd best in engine and it doesn't feel like I'm slow anymore. I also had a few ERS upgrades and it feels significant like how fast it recharges and I can use it more regularly, pretty much on every straight while on default it barely recharged anything.

My team car is a big fat draggy dog that’s trying to run on a polished floor.

ERS Upgrades are about the only power upgrades worth doing.  Early in myteam.  More importantly weight reduction will give you Better handling, acceleration and top end speed.

Also more  important than power upgrades.  Drag reduction upgrades.  Also downforce upgrades that have no negative effect on drag.  Drs upgrades  are only worth doing when you can keep up with the cars infront.

in pre season interview.  Answer either all questions related to aero or chassis.  Then If say you answered all aero. Select chassis as your gold star option so you can quickly upgrade weight reduction.  And if you answer all chassis then pick aero as your gold star.  Then start off season in activates pick the aero/chassis option

If you start your career and you have £1.5m starting cash if you build spec 1 activity  facilities in marketing.  Then select your 6 day activity but miss out the first day you will get a nice boost on that activity plus the following 8 day activity.

Also pick Ferrari as it has best performance and will keep you in the top half off the power rankings for a while so you can concentrate on aero and chassis.   Also sign a cheap 2nd driver £600 000.  So you have alittle extra cash.  All your first my team career teammates in your car will be poor and will only fluke the occasional point. Your better off spending money on facilities

I put in over 900 hours just into my team in 2021. And I tried every possible my team variation to death and this was the way.

    Hello boys,

I had the same issue of being a sitting duck in the straights with the preloaded setups, than changed the wings as if the maximum was 11 as in F1 2021 and I solved the issue. Minimum loss of downforce and top speed hugely increased in the straights. Maybe this can be helpful for you too.

I don't understand, anyway, the point to have wings level on 1-50 if with 10-18 I was a sitting duck...

I'm having a feeling that the AI being OP is may be a bit of an illusion.

    Hear me out.

I've been running strictly 100AI for my 16 races 100% distance MyTeam season.

Since the time I've gotten used to the physic of this year, I've been noticing how AI seems to be extremely weak in qualiy, often I was able to put my first season 3rd worst MyTeam car up to Q3 in a genuine way (no rewind), but then only to get swallowed up during the race.

I at first thought: "man, how ridiculously fast the AI are around me." but then, I notice something.

After being overtaken by all the really fast cars, the rest of the cars behind me are unable to do the same as the ones ahead. I'm starting to hold my ground against ALL the teams that are really close to me in terms of their R&D progression (Aston, AlphaTauri, McLaren, and of course Williams), sometimes I even managed to pull away from the closest one behind me as long as they're out of DRS range.

It was at this moment I realized it was the quali result that might have given me the wrong impression that I should be fighting against the now much stronger Haas, Alfa or Alpine.

Last night I was at Silverstone (one of my worst tracks since F1 2020) and had the exact same experience, qualified 3rd (yes, with the 3rd worst car, beating Max even). But in the race, the cars around me (Alpine, Merc, Haas) just caught me and ran away as if I'm standing still, only until I saw Vettel in his Aston behind me (with most of the similar performance cars behind him), he could not close the 2.5 sec gap through the entire race and I even managed to create a 3 sec gap until the final lap where he picked up his pace to cut about a sec (we had very similar strategy, one stop, M to H).

Most of my second stint I've very little ERS in my disposal (like only roughly 15 - 30% left through the entire duration), so I basically had to be very preservative, which, literally half the time I ran without using any Overtake for multiple laps straight to save energy. Yet, Vettel was unable to catch me.

My teammate Sato was about 0.2 - 0.5 sec slower than me per lap (I kept checking) and finished like 35 sec behind, his best lap was an entire sec slower than my best.

One more thing, I think everyone should try running less fuel (like a lap short of fuel at least), the calculation in practice program seem to be a bit off most of the time and gave you way too much fuel so you get bogged down heavily especially at the start.

Feeling the same. I find that every race i settle into the spot where I belong. In season one I found myself close to the back of the pack, especially at end of season when I had lowest ranked car. Ran first race of season 2 last night, with the car ranked in what is practically a 5 way tie for 5th. Came out for last stint in P10 with a 2 sec gap on either end to P9 and P11. After running the last 15 laps that was how I finished - P10 with a 2 sec gap either way.

So far I feel that the cars that pass me on the straights deserve to pass me. Especially since I messed up season one and answered all the pre-season questions to favor Power and Durability.

@Nylink  Marcel keifer also says the same…. He’s abit behind the rest and only got to Australia in his my team career. But mentions it a few times

  • The 110 AI from last years game is identical to this years. The AI is running last years times

but the players car is up to 2 seconds slower. The 110 AI in 2021 is akin to 122AI in F1 22.

Jarno and co need to reduce their AI difficulty level. Get faster or quit moaning.

@ALittleTiger7  You misunderstood.  They are not moaning. At all.  It’s observations they are just passing on.   They never moan.. Jarno and Marcel in particular just suck it up.  Unlike some other second rate YouTubers

  • I concur. Whatever the eSports "celebs" feel is wrong then its up to EA to pacify them. Not much of a concern for me.

I hope all find happiness and live happily ever after.  May Jarno and eSports "stars" feet never slip from their pedals.

    Godspeed them!
