Re: Negating ai op. More Helpful my team tips… From your community hero in waiting.

@Dan78lokiI would only be able to watch an elite sim racer fly off into the distance if we race against eachother in equal cars. But put me up against one in my team mode and mid season I’ll be flying off into the distance: simply cause I know how to get bang for buck in R&D:

plus as I’m not an elitist I get no pleasure seeing people who struggle with the game.  I don’t know everything but I know alittle about everything and if the little bits I know can help I willl try and help.

@ScarDuck14 I’ve read other posts that seem to indicate r and d isn’t applied to the player correctly. Over time the ai just becomes impossible to beat with the theory being they get rand updates applied and the player doesn’t - or at least seems to be unbalanced. From you post it seems you haven’t experienced this? Just wondering if you have any thoughts on this?

@Darthsausage44 Up till now cause off the issues with my team modes and ai. I Havnt played this years my team career for any longer than six races. As I’m waiting for game to be fixed before getting into a multiple seasons career. Instead I start a my team career mode do 5-6 races then restart and try different entry levels and engine suppliers.

So can’t comment on how or when ai teams get upgrades. Just what I’ve found from using different starting strategies. And what I find works best for me:

For instance my team newcomer. Your car is really really pants. And not fun to drive. If you opt for Ferrari it makes it a nightmare to drive. Renault may be down on power but your better able to manage that power thus making newcomer car easier to drive to start off with. I’d pick Mercedes or red bull as a mid team and only use Ferrari if you start as a challenger. As your cars aero and chassis are better equipped to utilise Ferrari power.

So to say players upgrades aren’t implemented is impossible to say for sure. When I start a newcomer career. I know the car is terrible and upgrades will be slow to start off with. So I’m not concerned about where I finish the first season. I spend the first season focused primarily on chassis weight. And drag reduction. And secondary is Downforce and redistribution. Completely ignore power and durability upgrades unless I’ve got some massively discounted ones.

So by start off second season my car chassis and aero package will be just as good if not better than the top teams and ready to handle as much power as I need.

But some will start a new comer career and focus on power power power without any thought to how a newcomer car is going to handle that power. And the answer is badly. So they think the game must be broken: Because they may simply be young with little understanding off how important reducing weight and drag not their fault.. I’ve posted many time The game should give better guidance.

Career modes are ten seasons long: You need to except your team is poor your car is no fast than a skip and then plan long term how best to go about advancing up the rankings.

I’m at Baku. Mid team start My redbull engine is well behind in the power ranking off the top three teams. But my acceleration match’s them and my top end speed is 215ish using ers and drs. My car is light and nimble so I’m faster through the corners and can dive bomb like a legend.

@Darthsausage44 You get to decide when to upgrade facilities and choose a team. In career mode you don’t control those to things and that’s pretty much it. Oh and what sponsors to put on your car. big as they are fictional it not really a thing. Oh and a choice off engine supplier.

It’s a huge disappointment as my team has been copied and paste every year. And nothing has been don to evolve a very popular mode that has with so much more content you could add that enhanced the base mode. I’m assuming with f1 manager. Codemasters have probably been
restricted from adding management focused options. But I’d like to see my team make use off f2 and maybe developing my own engine: after 3 seasons everything is maxed out and becomes limited to compared to driver career as you can change team. My team your stuck with your team
