Re: Rear FFB of car non existent. [All controllers + Wheels, except Esports rigs]

@KVNR01 Are we sure it's acceleration/wheel locking FFB is definitely a feature? I spent a lot of time searching online last night with many Reddit posters saying it isn't a feature, while others on the old Codemasters board saying the same (this is for F1 2021). I went through quite a few settings myself and no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to work. Being new to this myself I don't know why it wouldn't be evident on F1 games.

    @TotosHeadphones If I accelerate to quickly in lower gears i start to lose the back end and the FFB kicks in enabling me to save the spin. Is this what you mean? I’ve got thrustmaster ts-pc racer.

    @TotosHeadphones Yeah, that's something I'm still not sure of myself. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I'm new to wheels and originally just assumed it wasn't a feature in the G920/923/29 series.

    Then I found posts like this one claiming it was.

    I know some higher end wheel pedal setups, have vibrations motors built into the wheel and/or pedals. I'm assuming those for sure DO provide that information, but it's hard to confirm.

    Either way, I wish those vibrations were communicated some how because it's the primary (only) way the game communicated traction limits to you during acceleration and on a wheel (Logitech at least) it's completely missing.

    @ajobling1983 On a game pad, the triggers rumble when you're on the limit of traction BEFORE the rear tires actually break free. That's what people are referring to here.

    Once the rear tires break traction and begin to slide, any FFB wheel should go light and communicate that. But at that point it's about catching and recovering the rear end slide.

    The traction vibrations people here are referring to are about being able to ride the limit of traction and PREVENTING the rear wheels from breaking traction and starting a slide in the first place.

    @KVNR01 Thanks for clarifying. So to confirm that feature works really well on my wheel, thrustmaster ts-pc. I can feel loss of traction on the rear. Must be a device specific issue.

    @ajobling1983Interesting. On your Thrustmaster, how is rear grip limit communicated? The wheel vibrates? The pedals?

    On my G920 there's nothing until the steering goes light and the RPM's skyrocket, but at that point I've already lost the rear end and it's just about catching the slide after it's already initiated.

    Edit to add: Just to be clear, I've been driving without any TC on both pad and wheel for some time. Once I get the car going I'm generally fine and don't have many issues with spins. It's mostly when starting a race and I'm only using 10-15% throttle per my telemetry app.

    In regards to starts, im in the same position, feel nothing and my car just goes off to the left resulting in a crash. Seems they have added a new feature where there is no ffb at the start of a session or for a few seconds or after pausing / using a flashback.

    in regards to my wheel in general, if i come out of a corner on a straight and accelerate too soon in a lower gear, i can feel the slip of the rear tyres through the ffb on my wheel. This enables me to save if before i go for a spin. This is how it should work for everyone as far as I understand it.

    @ajobling1983 I think when I refer to FFB in this instance I mean the lack of acceleration traction and locking of wheels feedback. This is normally seen in the pad with vibration telling the user of these signs. I'm just trying to work out if F1 2021 (and F1 22) extends this type of FFB to the G29 wheel through some sort of quick oscillations of the wheel like Assetto Corsa Comp does.

    There's a lot of confusing dialogue on the topic. I have seen evidence that it works for some people on similar rigs, but it definitely doesn't exist for others. 

    I have no idea how they fix this, so unfortunately it could be a long one. I did try a full reinstall like the amigo on the other page and it improved nothing sadly, I still get a better driving experience on f1 2016 than I do here.
