Re: survey. more simulation or arcade?

Really depends on what we are talking about.. Traction? Then please more arcade if simulation means unrealistic behaviour at the moment😂

But in all seriousness the real question is can they give us both? The option to choose the amount of simulation yourself. Want a real sim experience? Go for it, choose it all on "hard mode" (not literally please😂). You are a beginner and just want some easy laps in F1 cars? Go for more arcady settings.. Just like with the carcass temps disabled..

It should offer realistic simulation settings as much as well balanced arcade/casual settings.. Broadening the potential amount of sales as much as making the players happy even if they have to do 2 Menus more at worst..

    @Meza994

    I really like your thinking.
That’d be great - it would appeal to a far bigger audience if they did what you suggest.

@Meza994 exactly good. the game loses support every year due to the lack of assistance to those who want more focusing only on the liveries and various *. if you want to see the limits of this game just go to the elite guide spa. we have crazy traction unreal curbs wings ditto. let's talk about the lobbies online?safety car delta at will we can't double lacking race recordings if you're not on pc and many other things this is to say that i agree with you. I only spend money on liveries

@Meza994 What would benefit from having both arcade, simcade and simulation modes. Is better ai behaviour.

As all three modes could return similar lap times. So all three modes would also allow players to set Ai at similar difficulty.

Cause currently where the ai pace isn’t balanced they are rocket ships out off slow corners but slow through medium and fast corners.

Changing ai difficulty seriously exaggerates the behaviour. Increase ai so they match your speed through faster corners. Means they go lite speed out off the slow corners.

Reduce difficulty so you match them out off slow corners and either fly past them or crash into them in the faster corners.

You could Reduce ai range from 0-100 to 50-100 which I would imagine would make it easier get better consistency across all tracks

You mentioned ai aggressiveness. Project cars 2 let you adjust both ai difficulty and aggressiveness. Although it was never great in the first place

@ScarDuck14 Many games let you adjust the difficulty and aggressiveness so its definitely doable..

Reducing the range is definitely one way although all the Youtubers will cry over it lol but id rather choose something like 70% of what we have now so beginners dont have to start completely lost but the steps are also not too big..

The AI is just not balanced, making it more difficult or less doesnt change it, its just like a scale, more emphasis on one end makes the other worse and the other way around.. Its probably just as bad for us cause the traction feels so unnatural at times due to bugs and other things that the AI probably didnt bother too much so its less them being overpowered but us being underpowered on traction..

@Meza994 Sim would make traction a lot easier and much much more realistic. with the arcade as it is now traction is unnecesary difficult and not that close to reality.

@Wollcott I know that a real sim is easier.. It was just a joke playing on how CM tried making traction more "sim" compared to 2020 but they actually went way too far and made it much more difficult, so i was playing it going back to the "arcade" ways of 2020 and earlier which is in comparison more realistic :P But all that has been due to some bugs and other stuff going on and will hopefully be fixed and be both more realistic and more easy in F1 23

@Meza994 also another important thing how can it be that the car behaves the same with the same setup? physically they are different so should I have different behaviors even with equal performance? instead no this would bring a much more fun way to play in the lobbies

@Nellix82 Im not sure if i understand you correctly but i try to comment on what i think you meant..

So when you use equal performance but the real f1 cars e.g. Ferrari and RB and Merc etc. then the cars will have same aero, chassis weight etc. but differ in physics characteristics due to wheelbase and such so there will be slight differences in handling! If you all go by the player car you should all have the exact same handling.

This is my current understanding of how it works, no information by any CM members so might be wrong

@Meza994 very good instead it would take a clear difference as in reality. if you leave a minimal difference, I copy a ferrari setup and use it on mercedes. i get the same results. this is not good in my opinion. clear differences must be created so as to avoid the usual move of taking any setup and i'm good anywhere.
