@TheMrZoops You really cannot use the "It works for me" approach here when you are likely using different hardware. That's such a naive view to take. If you'd really like to be constructive, then please go and find a Quest 2 headset and link cable and try it for yourself just to see why many people are complaining.
The game is poorly optimised for the Quest in particular. with constant crashing of SteamVR and very poor performance. Many other games are deisgned to use EITHER the OpenVR runtime (Steam), or the OpenXR runtime (Oculus). It's very well known (and pretty obvious) that Oculus devices will perform best with the native Oculus runtime. Games ran on Oculus devices through SteamVR generally always take performance hits.
So, why does a game that has been advertised as Oculus Quest compatible not use the Oculus runtime? If they do not support the Oculus runtime, they should advertise as compatible with SteamVR headsets rather than directly listing the Quest. At least this way it's clear to see that the game will ONLY run via SteamVR and that you need to make sure you have a headset that works through SteamVR.
If it had been advertised in this way, I certainly wouldn't have pre-ordered the game. It's a shame I'm not able to refund or else I would.
So no, this is not a SteamVR configuration issue, and people are right to complain. I want to see native Oculus support introduced so that I can play the game I paid for, and was advertised as working with the system I have.
As it stands, the game is not fit for purpose, and has been falsely advertised and as such I don't see why legal action could not be fully justified to anyone with the desire to do so. The worst thing is that EA have not even acknowleged the issues despite the amount of complaints.
