Every race AI's final lap feels too fast. I find they had deployed ERS overtake mode almost every acceleration time even Miami Turn 11-12 and 12-13. They seem to pour out all their remaining energy...

@homesvslupinThis is definitely part of the game and has been since at least F1 2020.
I don't *hate* it because once you know it's coming you can try and save some battery to counter that last 1-2 laps push by the AI.
What I don't like is how predictable it is. It's EVERY race. It would be nice to *simulate* an AI behind you who already pushed as hard as they could and have already dumped all their battery and chewed their tires, leaving you to finish the darn race in peace every now and again, lol.
- @KVNR01 This probably my main gripe I don’t mind being beaten to the line out off the last corner. But it needs to feel organic. But as you say because it’s every race you know it’s not.
Good observations brought up in here and I agree. the AI go all out in the final laps. They do save up their ERS mid race and use it perfectly at the end to hunt you down. I know it's coming and I do the same. I rarely outpace the AI in the last couple of of laps.
ERS management algorithm needs to be modified.
They should use their energy at better opportunities.
It's stupid to have the slowest lap time in the mid-race on other side a 1-2 second quickest lap in the final lap.
It is unrealistic and not fun for all drivers except me to record their best lap on the final lap.
Yeah the first few laps and the last few lap’s they are coded to be faster.
At least you know the ERS surge is coming at the end and can prepare for it. What is really aggravating me is the AI tire temps maxed at 92 degrees. I've been racing Abu Dhabi for a week, slowly bringing the AI up and now at 100. I have pace to stay with them until my tires start to reach 99-100 degrees. Then the understeer, instability kick in and they pull away. I tried my best to manage the tire temps with technique but the softs always overheat on the fronts even with minimum tire pressures. At the end of the race the AI have such a massive advantage on old tires it is insane. VER is a rocket ship on the final two laps no matter how old his tires are. It just feels rigged in the favor of the AI and that is not fun.
@HansenhausBest workaround and what I do is turn tyre temps to surface only.. At tracks and in conditions where tyre temps are a issue..
Ai don’t have carcass temps on. So if we do we are only handicapping ourselves.
