Suspicous online lobby

I have a question……..

Yesterday I did a load of online open lobbies for a bit of fun (well apart from when you get smashed when trying to overtake for the lead.....). One of the races was a five lapper around Imola (one of my stronger tracks) with one shot qualifying. I qualified second with a 1m 17s flat (I made a couple of small errors and a time in the 1m 16’s is usually my target) but the person who got pole beat me by nearly 1.5s with a mid 1m 15s.

I thought this looked quick/odd at the time but continued to the race (they also ran away with that), so I just looked at the esports qualifying around Imola this year and the slowest players were doing low 1m 15s.

I’m fairly certain this player was on Playstation so my question is, is it possible to use hacks and cheats on that platform? Please don’t post any websites or names as I don’t want to promote that sort of nonsense.

Yes, there are ways to cheat. Obviously I won't mention it but there is a method that is really hard to detect.

I thought the time was fast for an online lobby but it wasn’t until I saw on Twitter that someone was kicked out of PSGL for using an extra grip hack that I started wondering whether it’s possible.

Maybe I’m being paranoid but when you’re 0.4s off eSports times it’s a little suspicious.

@VibrantMass616 Depends on who your playing against really.
I would check PSGL and WOR higher tiers.
They do show up from time to time and had 1 time TRL Martin was in a lobby and he stomped the lobby at will.

Cheating is possible on console but I try to give the benefit of the doubt first.

Interestingly, Marcel Keifer suggesting a prominent Esports driver has been cheating all season with a fair few rumours floating around behind the scenes. Who knows if true

Haha maybe. Limitless has a video about it all. If you watch eSports, there was an incident that happened that left a lot of viewers like myself bemused. Limitless kind of implies that the reason for the incident is due to the belief that one of the drivers in the incident had been cheating. It's all hearsay and gossip but it seems there are a few behind the scenes that aren't happy.
Looking at it another way is that if there is cheating in the eSports build, it's an even worse look for CM as it appears that they can't even make sure their code, which is part of a professional competition and has a considerable prize pot, can't be kept cheater free. Obviously if there has been cheating involved mind...
