Thrustmaster wheel, involuntary downshifts and button presses

I have this really strange problem. I am driving with a Thrustmaster TX with F1 Wheel addon. My cars shifts down with no reason. I first thought that my wheel is dying but after a while I found out that it happens more often in the beginning of the season Jeddah was desaster and its stops throughout the season just to be back next season. It also seems to happen at the same spots on the track. It got better overall and therefore I am wondering if this is really a hardware issue. Any feedback would be appreciated

  • I had this issue when I used a T300 base with the Ferrari add on rim. It would press buttons and gears randomly - I ended up buying a Fanatec and the problem ended. Unfortunately, It seems to be a wheel problem rather than a game one.

  • I had this problem too using a T300 base and with my T500 base as well. I think it's the Ferrari wheel which causes this because it happened in other games as well. I now bought myself a new wheel + base (Simagic Alpha mini) and problem solved now 😃

  • @GemeineWurst Friends I'm going through a similar problem, but on Logitech G29. When downshifting one gear, involuntarily downshifts one more. This is getting in the way of some laps. I'm in Career Mode with Williams on the Spain stage and on all previous tracks I had this problem. As the season progresses, I hope this resolves itself.

I have the same TM TX Base and the same Ferrari wheel as well as the new SF1000. My TM TX base is more than 5 years old and I never had that issue with downshifting on it's own....never. I would have noticed it right away if I did! Try another steering wheel if you have one available or it might be something else that is causing it to downshift on it's own other than the wheel..

Did you apply the update that Thrustmaster released specifically for this game?
