Weird stutter and lag on F1 22

It's really bad, i can't even play. The game stutters and lags, but its especially the stutter that annoys me, when looking at it in tv mode in replay its like the car is teleporting 3 meters at a time. I had no issues on the last game, and my pc is plenty capable of running this game. I have nothing running in the background

Specs:

GPU: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 2060 12gb

RAM: 16gb

CPU: Intel i7-11700F

setup:

Thrustmaster T300 RS

Fanatec CSL Pedals connected via usb converter.

Graphics Settings: Low

I know its a new game but this is ridiculous.

Heres a video showing how bad it is

Note: The lag isnt just because of recording, but the bad quality is, the game looked decent but the lag was just as bad.

  • As you can read in several other topics - fanatec pedals via USB seems to be a big issue at the moment.
other people can fix it by connecting them directly to their base.. but that probably won't work in your case.
maybe try if it still stutters when you disconnect wheel and pedals.

  • @iku3xzle4960 There have been reports of certain wheels plugged in directly to the PC having lag issues. If you can't plug your pedals into the wheel base directly, just as a test, try unplugging the wheel temporarily just to see if the lag disappears.

My wheel is packed away at the moment so I've been using an xbox controller (I know it isn't the same)...
  • Thank you for the reply. So theres nothing i can do other than wait?

  • Have the same problem, have a T300 with the Ferrari SF1000 and CsP v3 plugged in to the pc and the lagging is to much,it’s unplayable

Hard to believe they haven’t released a patch for this, unreal.

Plugging the pedals into my wheelbase didn't work for me.  In fact to check if it was my controllers, I disconnected all of them, but still have pauses everywhere, load screen, menus, and game.  IMHO, it has nothing to do with the controls in my case.

  • My issue was the same but not as bad as the OP with the jerky hesitation.  My issue was the FPS was low during the race starts and beyond.  I have a TM TX base with the TC steering wheel and Fantec V1 Pedals connected to USB.

I never had any issues with F12021 or prior F1 games with this setup in term of frame rates but with F12022 it is awful which I don't understand because it looks no different (Graphics wise) than F12021.  Actually, F12020 had better graphics and more detail animation with particle effects, rubber marbles, tree leaves falling etc. and was removed in F1 2021 and F1 2022. Some say that they did this to cater to current new consoles so they can run at 60 FPS vs  30FPS. So we PC owners with high-end addons like powerful graphic cards, processors and memory get the leftover, second hand scraps/port!  Sounds familiar how the trend in game development industry is going eh?  VR?, yea, I tried it long before with other racing games.   Big waste and a lot hype. IMO, it is getting there but not good enough yet.  Still a blurry mess with racing games going fast.

I refunded it.  Not worth the $$$ if you ask me and I have all of the F1 games for PC dating back 2010.  Will eventually buy it just for collection sake but not at this price and the bugs it has. Will wait for a digital bargain bin price at the end of the year.  The F1 season started in mid March so.....who cares if I get the game later in the year at this point!

  • I'm having the same issues with Fanatec pedals connected to my wheelbase. At first, the game was playable with occasional random lag. It has now increased to the point of being unplayable. Screen freezes / stutters randomly for a short to a long moment and input is unrecognized during this time.

My config - F1 22 PC-Steam. Fanatec CSL DD Wheelbase 8nm connected via USB. Fantec Universal Hub V2. Fanatec Clubsport Pedals V3 connected directly to wheelbase with an RJ11 cable. Core i7-8700, GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

  • I have the same problem, this has been going on for a long time, it comes and go. Sometimes it stops. It´s ridiculous!
