I do use a wheel and agree I'd find it more challenging if I played on a controller. There are loads of people who do use manual gears on controllers though.

My bet is you'd be able to master manual gears if you persevered but if you'd rather just not play then fair enough. I hope there is another game update soon and that this resolves the manual gear issue for you.

Not sure if you misunderstood me there? Your gear issue is absolutely getting fixed as David Greco has posted about this (and apologised for causing it), as well as it being listed in your link. I was specifically referring to the MFD issue I quoted as I'm not sure the same is true for this.

I agree with @Ultrasonic_77 that in the time the auto gears problem has existed is sufficient time to learn auto gears and could have been a good time to drop an assist. 

i did learn manual gears on a wheel, but recently tried using controller, as so many people were complaining about no feedback. And was surprised with how easy it was to do manual on a controller. 

I understand it’s not for everyone and should hopefully be fixed soon.
