Maybe you won't have too if the FAI strip the titles he and Red Bull won by cheating.

- @ScarDuck14 I think you're referring to F1 2020, where if you pick a number, the game asks you if you want to use the number 1 if you become champion? And I think that this is a better system, because then, you can safely confirm that you will get the 1 if you win the season.
Since 2021, you need to become champion before the game asks you if you want to use the 1 or not.
Alternatively, you can just destroy Verstappen's car in every single race to strip him of the 1. @LuckyNico92No nico.., in 2021 it asks you when your setting up your my team career and when you name your driver and your number.

If I'm not mistaken it doesn't automatically come up like it did in previous games but I think if you go to your driver info screen between seasons where you can change your number you'll get the prompt. I declined it because I like my own number but did not notice if Max drove the following year as #1 or 33. But then my gamesave got corrupted and would no longer load, so yeah... I can't go check now.
