Why change starting procedure from good to IMPOSSIBLE TO GET AWAY? UNNECESSARY

I mean, optimal revs are way too low, you almost anti stall when you do it like that without TC. Do it like that and you almost instant wheelspin until 4th or 5th gear, while the ai nails it perfevtly and you go from pole to last.

last years and previous years starting procedure was way better and realistic and the car bites instantly, making it at least 10000% more realistic and gives you a fair chance.

this is just complete and utter stupidity. Starts were one of the things I had nailed down. The way it’s setup now i can better start in reverse gear.

optimal rpms haven’t changed (at least not this extreme that you’re more towards anti stall rpms) compared to previous years in real life (just look onboards, almost same rpms as before)

In stead of FIXING GAMEBREAKING BUGS, YOU THOUGHT LET’S * EVERYONE OFF SOME MORE?

  • @JasVerstoppen038 The way the torque is released is too extreme. Like it’s not there, and suddenly you get it all. It’s like turbo lag from the 80’s. Shift….. wait for it…. Wait for it….. wait for it… BANG!

These cars feel like that, there’s no feeling of advanced engineering but like we are in the stoneages where torque and power isn’t there or it’s all there at once, and that’s not how these technical superb cars are supposed to feel.

Well, i have been trying many different ways to get off the line, but it simply sucks and you will lose places or spin all the way to Narnia…

WHY DID YOU CHANGE THE STARTING PROCEDURE?

I have no issues with the start at all. I rarely lose places to the AI and every now and then I gain some.

I didn't have issues with the start on F1 2021 either, but obviously they changed a lot to the handling model and it's easy to understand that they simply can not make last editions car behave the same as this editions car at the start of a race. It's not like they can flick a switch to change the start. They would have to change the handling completely.

Now we do know that an update is coming for the handling to make the torque in lower gear more realistic. I advise to wait for that update and if you still feel like you can't get off the line then reply again.

  • @zed08je0ot2v Do you use TC or not? Because without it is almost undoable IF you keep the “optimal” revs. The optimal is simply way to low for turbocharged engines with the ERS. When you pull away at those revs the turbo isn’t spooled up in a good window, hence all the torque releases instantly when you push the throttle to fast or hard.

Plus I have watched lots of start procedures on F1TV with the onboard cams, the procedure and rpms haven’t changed this radical in real life. Starting rpms are almost to 100% identical in real life. Ingame the starting “optimal” revs are almost too Idle RPMS, where last years RPMS were close to real

So there’s no excuse to suddenly change it ingame unless you built a new handling model and somehow managed to break the starting procedure.

    @JasVerstoppen038 Yes, no assists whatshowever.

Again, I'm hoping the patch will fix this. If not, I'll have a closer look at a real life vs. game comparison. Let's give David and his team the benefit of doubt.

@JasVerstoppen038 Completely agree with you - I play without TC as well and starts are broken. Optimal revs are way too low and I'm losing positions easily playing career but especially online vs players playing with TC. Like you mentioned with "optimal revs" after lights off it's really hard not to lose control over your car, either you spin or lose lots of position accelerating slowly and trying not to spin... I checked the onboards too and it's like you said, drivers are keeping quite high rpms.

I thought it was me doing something wrong even though I didn't have problems with manual starts in the previous games, but seems like it's simply broken for now. I will try to make some starts with higher rpms to see if this will help, but still it should be fixed ASAP.

@JasVerstoppen038 Just had this issue at Imola, I had an optimal parking position in the immersive mode, and still all the cars flew past like rockets on steroids. It’s so unrealistic the advantage the AI have which I use 70% AI
