I don't remember this being an issue last year, I may be wrong though. Hopefully they fix this in an update.

This has always been an issue in Fifa. The way they code the game doesn't make it possible to import new faces (or new players that are added) in existing saves. There is no fix because there's nothing to fix. They probably have to build the game from the ground up again to adress this issue.
