Tottenham have completed the signing of centre midfielder Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland for an undisclosed fee on a 5 year deal. The England under 21 international is the younger brother of Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham and is hoping to show case his skills in the Premier League after a very good season for Sunderland. Also signing for the club is left back Gijs Smal from Feyenoord for a fee of £4,000,000 on a 3 year deal. The left back has signed to provide competition to Destiny Udogie following the release of Sergio Reguilon
Heres what both players had to say after joining the club
Bellingham “I am so happy to be given this opportunity to play for one of the top teams in England. Obviously it was disappointing for me not to get Sunderland promoted but I feel really ready to test myself in the Premier League and after speaking with Robbie I feel I will be given the chance to do that here at a top team. Part of me is hoping we draw Real in the Champions League to play against Jude would be a dream come true and to do so in the Champions League would be a proud day for our family.”
Gijs “I am really pleased to be signing for Tottenham, I spoke with Micky about joining and he said nothing but good things about the club and you know I think we have one of the best left backs in the wolrd already here and I believe I will show that I am also one of the top left backs in the world. You see Robbie gives a chance to his players and if they perform they keep their jersey so this is my plan.
Keane added this “We are really pleased to get these 2 deals done. These are 2 players that will offer really tough competition to the players already at the club and we can’t wait to see the impact that they are going to have on the team. The business we have managed to conduct this summer has really pleased me and we feel ready to start the season now with the squad we have at our disposal.”
