4-2-1-3. Please make it stop.

Is the only one working in this terrible game. Why people should use something different if is not working properly?

Since they keep buffing offense and nerfing defense what do you expect. Defenders can’t keep up with the pace and easy passing. So the only counter is a defensive formation. Even then you can only slow the scoring.

Lmao what do you mean it's the only one working properly? I'm in Elite and I haven't run 4-2-1-3 once this year. Don't believe everything you see on Youtube bro. You can win games without having to run the same boring meta formation all year, another friend of mine ran a 3 back to Elite this year, tell me more on how it's not working?

I think the problem is people can't be bothered to actually LEARN how to defend. They just prefer to rely on auto defending. It's a skill issue. Most defenders now have 95 plus pace after a play style which is more than enough to keep up with attackers, not to mention the slow down players receive when they're actually on the ball.

It would help if offense was manual. This would add a skill gap lower scoring and bring back realism. Right now you only need 4 attackers because it’s so easy to score. You nerf offense and force manual you will see other formations. People don’t want a higher skill gap with realism though. 

Since EA removed the free module customisation, all the other formations are useless.
Why can't CM drop back to help the defender? Why does EA create an imaginary line that the midfield line can't pass? I play full manual since FIFA 08, so compared to most of the players, I can see all the garbage things that happen in the game.

Being an elite player means nothing to me (especially on FC games) since this game is all about cards with Playstyle(that are basically legal cheats)and AI automation(because AI is not helping you, it is doing everything for you).

If you play with 3 defenders means you must have an absolutely broken CB, because if you have a normal CB, everyone knows they will move away from the defensive line to let opponent's striker go through

I play in a manual tournament where people use teams with a max of 3 stars(with no playstyle), and even like this, it is not even enough manual compared to how it used to be on old FIFA.

Isn't that the idea for most teams in a soccer season? Same players, same formation? Sure, this is a game and it makes sense to switch sometimes, but better to stick with what works for you. You can't fault people for playing like that.

As for 4-2-1-3: it must be the meta I guess. If you're beating it like you say you do: what's the problem? If you want other formations, play AI. Don't tell other people how to play.
