An open letter to Administrators and Developers, a request
Hello, I'm writing this cause I would like to ask you a huge favour. Well, firstly, I gotta say that I'm a massive Coldplay fan and also a huge EA Sports FC fan for a pretty long time, so when I found out that the new game would feature "iAAM", a brand new Coldplay song—and that it would be out days before the official release of the album—I got extra thrilled!
When I purchased the game, I had a blast with both the game itself and the new Coldplay song, and thought it sounded amazing. However, when my Coldplay's Moon Music CD arrived, I noticed that the same song sounded different than from the game release. Upon multiple close listenings and comparisons between the game and the album version, I'm very inclined to believe that they both feature different masterings from each other.
The mastering of the album version sounds muddy and is painfully louder due to overcompression, whilst the game version sounds way more dynamic and well-balanced, which makes the listening even more pleasant and enjoyable.
Now, as I said, I'm a massive Coldplay fan; I've been to several of their shows, I have bought nearly their entire discography on CD format, and I've been a participating figure within the fandom for some years by now. My Coldplay music collection is entirely based on digital copies ripped in lossless format (FLAC) from my CDs.
Nevertheless, I recently spoke with Marco, a member of the EA crew, and expressed interest in obtaining a copy of the WAV file for "iAAM" used on the EA Sports FC 25 game, exclusively due to its different mastering to the original version found on the Coldplay album. Marco advised me to write to you and explain myself better. Now, I do understand the responsabillity behind such request given the copyrighted material and your contractual agreements with the band, but I would like to put your mind at ease by stating that I have no ulterior or hidden motives in making this request. I will not copy, share, or sell it anywhere, ever, as I don't intend to harm either the band or EA under any circumstances. It will only be used for personal enjoyment solely.
I appreciate for your consideration, time, and patience, if you've read until the end. I am excited to hear back from you soon! Once again, thank you.
Hey @GatoSemOrelha this is not something that we would be able to assist with.
You would need to speak with the rights holders in relation to acquiring any different version of a track used in the game.
