Ea have ruined this game. They took 5 back out of competitive as it was “broken” to them last year, yet this year shock it’s broken again. I understand a studio based in USA/Canada may not understand football properly but 5 back is not a popular formation in real life, yet because they can’t programme a balance to formations we are stuck with a broken system where everyone is using it, including all the pros you just love to fawn over. while the 5 back is beatable, I want to play a variety of teams and formations. Not the same 5 back formation game after game after game. I bought this thinking it was fc 25 not 5 at the back 25. Please can someone learn to balance the formations before you kill off this game even more?

@Stewdinho83 They should just nerf offense so people don’t need a 5 atb. You can just remove 5atb but it’s not going to solve the real problem of offense being to good.I mean they can force 3 atb or just allow 2 cbs and no fullbacks. You will just get everyone pacing by the defense doing ball rolls flip flaps trivelas ping pong ect that you can’t stop.

Offence isn’t the issue. It’s people who haven’t learnt how to defend so go with a 3cb formation and just sit on the cdm and let the computer do the work for them. It’s been the same issue for a couple years when they messed about with defending. People aren’t prepared to learn how to defend as it’s not as much fun as attacking. Just look at rush game play, the high scores aren’t because attacking is overpowered it’s because people don’t know how to tackle for themselves

@Stewdinho83 Anybody doing that you can just blow by them. It’s not a good way to play defense. It’s definitely that offense is op people don’t even play manual offense because of how easy it is.

@Stewdinho83 Defense isn’t broken though. Not one pro is sitting there not defending. What you won’t find is one pro actually using manual offense because that would take to much skill and be hard.

Look we all know ea will cater to offense. It’s what sells games and makes the pro scene fun to watch. Not for me but you will get your way in the end by either nerfs or removing defense.

@Stewdinho83 Your not going to balance the game on bad players though. I mean I suppose they do or they would force manual offense.

The point is you have to play manual defense and do twice the work to be good at defense. You don’t have to play manual offense.

You don’t base how a game runs off the “top” 0.1% of players. Nobody wants to see someone do 50 balls rolls then the stupid sprint boost on repeat with a travella/finesse shot that’s going in simply because the card has effectively a sticker on it….or where all pros just used Joselu at right back because he had the heading one. It’s a pisstake that they can’t balance the game in anyway without breaking something else.
The average gamer isn’t doing any of that rubbish, but because they see these pros that ea try and ram down your throat by forcing people to watch that rubbish for packs, people see 5 backs now and that’s what they are doing. Why, because they don’t have to manually defend. Sit back and let computer do it for you….wow what fun…
