As mentioned here, this game is a big impudence and just rubbish.
EA is destroying the hobby of thousands of gamers, who love football.
I was very adamant on the previous forums and now answers about how bad the past 5-6 fifa have been with special attention to the last 3. I never thought that it could go downhill so fast. At least the last few were playable at launch and in many ways they just got worse throughout the year with all the suspected things going on behind the gameplay, the patches, cards getting nerfed, crappy gameplay.
BUT THIS GAME, is on a different level of jacked up. You can’t even play the way you want anymore. Other years you could play your style and know you would lose but at least have some respect. This gameplay now is basically who gets the right bounce, lobbed ball, or godly keeper. God forbid you have lag because then the L1 speed boost trick will do you in quickly.
you can’t turn, pass, defend, switch, cross, shoot. It’s all completely broken. With a million tactics and settings, nothing is consistent, it’s a different/worse game every time in turn it back on.
For a whole year I was thinking the same about FC 24: this has nothing to do with football anymore. In the new EA FC 25, they cut out the few good things from FC 24 and either left the bad or even make it worse.
Where the opponent's pressure in FC 24 was unreal, they totally left it out in FC 25. Not one of my defenders is moving when an opponent's striker is attacking on goal. Also the strength of some teams in FC 24 was just so over exagurated that it was ridiculous. I could run after a ball playing with Man City vs Real Madrid for 90mins without touching it. In FC 25 it's the opposite. There's hardly any difference between teams anymore. The day before yesterday, I consecutively beat Aston Villa, PSG and Barcelona with freaking Anderlecht in online games! Totally stupid!
Where one could still adjust stuff in Team Management last year, there's hardly anything you can do this year. The whole Tactics-thing is just stupid, one big fraud!
The whole gameplay feels unnatural. Last year there was a lot to do about putting sensors on real players to monitor how they move and integrate it in the game, but i can hardly imagine that this is the result. We live in a world where AI can basically (re)create everything existing and non-existing on this planet, and this is the best EA came up with?!
The numbers don’t like either. This game is terrible on every level. Game sales are already down 5% from last year. It’s the lowest rated EA FC and FIFA game in this Franchise’s history. Active player count is consistently decreasing. It’s evidently clear the developers put more emphasis on micro transactions than on any effort to improve the gameplay and all the mechanics associated with it.
All and all the facts are there.
We live in times where AI can (re)create literally everything existing and non existing on this planet. I can't believe this is the best you can come up with while developing a football game if you would really make an effort
I've been playing FIFA (now EAFC) regularly since 2008. From then until around 2013, I genuinely believe those were some of the best football games and simulators ever made. However, between 2014 and 2018, the quality became inconsistent — some releases were good, while others fell short. Then came 2019, which was one of the worst games I’d ever played. Ever since, I can't help but feel foolish for spending my money on this “thing.”
Thankfully, I’ve avoided going all-in on Ultimate Team and have never spent a cent on it. I know EA will never change something that brings in millions, and worse, there are players out there dropping hundreds to gain an edge, fooling themselves into thinking it makes them great players. Meanwhile, EA just keeps raking in profit, so where’s the motivation for them to make a genuinely good game?
Honestly, the people behind these games don’t seem to care about football or understand it. They act like football is just another freestyle show — but that’s not real football! Even at Ronaldinho’s peak, we never saw anything close to what they’ve turned this game into. The ridiculous mechanics — like how some players are practically glued to the ball when holding L1, or how they glide past defenders as if on skates — ruin the experience. They can run circles around everyone, dribble in the box endlessly, and score without breaking a sweat or losing the ball. It’s beyond ridiculous!
Then there are the constant rebounds always landing for the opponent and the long-range shots that fly in, like something out of an anime. It’s laughable. I know I’m just one voice, and EA couldn’t care less about my opinion, but maybe they should spend even an hour and a half watching a real football match. Even a fifth-division game would teach them what football should be.
We want a simulator, not an arcade game. So, I’ve decided never to buy another EA game again. I’m enjoying UFL; it’s far from perfect, but at least it’s not this mess we’re forced to play year after year.
@redevil_86 You're not the only one. There are a lot of people on this forum and many more online, saying the same thing over and over again. No one listens. As long as they stick with this game engine, nothing will change. They are trying to make it work for years already, with no success. Gameplay blows, responsiveness blows, natural movement blows and now they screwed up the tactics part as well.

After last patch its became totally garbage, rivals are unplayable
I raged , threw controllers at the wall and all possible things while playing 24/23/22 and so on but i still wanted to play. This year i do not even want to play this. Its so boring , passes are random , player movements are slow as hell. My defenders are watching the game from the stands. It makes me throw wanna up when i play this *. I am absolutely done. I qualified for the WL and everything but i am not destroying my brain with this bug * game.

The game, fc ( * crap) is what fc stands for. Hands down the worst football game In the history of all football games. The speed boost is a joke, player select, player select what. And don't get me started on the horrendous passing. I can't wait for the day EA stop making football games. They sick and will find how much they suck with ufl becomes the go to game.

I raged over fc24 towards the end, and maybe too much coz I was waiting for fc25, but ohh my, what a disaster it has been.., the attacking A.I is jst so behind time..., u can barely create good chances against opponents.., it's all about lofted through balls now.., and the tactics, the depth for a reason jst keeps resetting..,😅 then there is this donkey thing of roles..., azn💁🏽♂️, what was so hard with adding the extra options to the previous format..., I think I could sit here whole day and type the negatives of this game, and sadly I still go back to play it, jst because I'm so in love with football.., it's heartbreaking..., I hope they do read these...otherwise I've seen nothing improve from the patches so far...bar the speed boost
Enough is enough! Stop basing everything on the god of money, damn it! The latest versions of FIFA or FC, or whatever the hell you want to call it, keep getting worse. I’d like to know who the hell is in charge of it all: surely a bunch of greedy, reckless money-hungry people for whom honest earnings aren’t enough. FC25, with its money-sucking scripts (yes, because that’s what they’re programmed for—forcing idiots to spend money online), has become frustrating software, not enjoyable, injecting anger and resentment into most players. If God truly exists, I hope they pay the rightful price for the disaster they’re creating, version after version!

I absolutely agree that this is the worst Fifa I’ve played, sony double billed me for this game but I cannot prove it. To say the least, this is a waste of money purchase, if you have the FC24 you didn’t miss anything!
FC25 is for children who just want to run and score, it is not for players !
You can’t direct passing it decides for you and the whole gameplay is weird especially when defending you feel that you have no control, you just watch
Played this game for 20 years and though the last 3 we’re quite bad, lacked any real innovation or thought, there was hope that doing the same thing every year would eventually reach an acceptable standard.
how the devs are EA could brag about this game is complete idiocy, this game isn’t any better than three lions on the ps3, it’s a buggy, unplayable mess with the least realistic football I have ever played, rush is trash, career mode is completely unplayable and the ai is so unbelievable dumb now.

This game is just difficult to play. I don't mean in skill level, it's difficult to actually want to play it, it's that awful.
After giving champs a miss last week, I decided to qualify for this one. And god. This game. Nothing works.
Manual tackling is a complete coin toss. The player your tackling will literally freeze and glide towards the ball, regaining it straight away.
The attacking "A.I." is completely awful. You can only A. Run the down wings or B. Spam through balls until you get a lucky bounce.
Call me a quack if you want, disagree with me all you want but rebounds are programed to trigger counter attacking actions. The ball will almost always at least 90% of the time find a way to deviate towards an open defender especially when you're attacking the area.
Today I could see/feel the game pulling my attackers away from the ball while also when defending guiding me directly to the ball.
None of the attacking players for special. You may think I'm being hyperbolic but I'm serious. The defense is that insane, that fast, covers everything that unless you're jamming through they feel mostly useless.
I don't get how anything works in this game.
So, I'm playing Ancelotti's formation & tactics. I have a pretty good front-line. Whenever I play a nice pass NONE of my attacking support are either providing support nor pouring into the box to get on the end of a potential loose ball. Example: I got into space with Vinnie, there's a player running directly to the far post, I decided to shoot with Vinnie instead of passing, It hits the post before I can switch to Swanson, she starts back peddling in this weird half circle like she's trying to avoid the rebound. The ball was heading straight for her.
When it comes to switching between attacking players, it's completely slow for reason. They'll just freeze.
Passing is awful. This game will change the weight & direction of a pass completely because we need an interception to spice things up or something.
EA think having a game not do what you tell it to do is somehow thrilling. But's it not. It actually just feels pointless playing it. The cats out of the bag with this game. It's not skill based. At any moment this game can/will manufacture a random moment that most of the time isn't your fault to "even the odds". It was overt last year but this years game doesn't even bother to be clever with it. I don't feel like any win, loss or draw is legit anymore.
And I won all my qualifiers, so this isn't bitterness talking.
@Tauntmattfc IQ introduce the dumbest AI i have seen in a football video game. And i played fifa,winning eleven,pro evolution soccer and this is football games.
This is the worst, no brain is better than fc IQ.
imagine a game that come out more than 20 years ago (this is football) when you can start a career mode starting from school team up to professional team, and this developer in 2024 cant handle a basic and bland simple league.
The update has made gameplay a Little better.. unfortunately the computer defenders are horrific.. you can walk past them
