Be glad you didn't play ultimate team around fifa 16 through 19 or so then, keepers actually did their job in those games, and it was fun trying to score. I will say though in my game the defending isn't as bad as you say, a lot of the time I still sense enough ai help that they contribute something, can I ask what settings you use for switching players though? Are you right stick swtiching, and if so are you using the setting based on where the ball is or your player? Also what is your L1/LB switching set to? Goal side, closest to ball, or classic?
I use right stick ( Im trying to) and I use default settings, didnt touch anything.
Also nah, AI doesnt exist at all anymore, maybe it shows up once in 3 matches, but rarely.
No cbs/lb/rb marks opposite player.
If I switch to cb they get out of position so easily cuz they play like they got 150kg, if I DONT switch to them they just stand still and opponent scores goal w 2 passes
I would recommend using L1 and right stick depending, with L1 I have mine set goal side but it's about what you find better to use, and try changing right stick to be based off of the player you're using. It makes it much easier for me to find the player I want at least.
I know what you mean about the marking, they deliberately toned that down because of how it was, do you ever use R1 contain to get a player in front of them? It's not the best but it helps contain them till you can switch and make a tackle.
Also do you ever double tap and hold R1? It makes 2 ai players contain possible passing options. It's tricky to get the hang of but quite handy once you get used to it.
Those are the only things I could think of that might help with what you're experiencing
Ive been using R1 for that yeah, it helped me alot before, but now it’s kinda impossible because my player reactions are weak and not good, there’s like 0.5sec delay which is so annoying, my ping is 25-30 tho so that aint problem.
same goes for dribbling, whenever i move my right stick to roll it delays and all that started happening after new patch.
