Formation Customization

Is there a way to alter player positioning/roles within a career mode formation like in pervious releases of the game? Meaning the ability to slightly reposition a player to change a CDM to a CM for example. This feels unbelievably restrictive in the new release that I'm not truly able to customize a formation. Another directly related issue, the possible roles for each player are not always correct. For example, playing a 433 with Jadon Sancho at LW results in an "out of position" error. Jadon Sancho is most certainly capable of playing a LW...he's doing it in real life right now.
