GAMEPLAY OPINION ON AI/BOT FUT/PRO CLUBS

For years, I’ve voiced my frustration with AI and bots in FIFA/EA FC, and with the rising dissatisfaction from other content creators, I’d like to share my perspective on what I believe could be a simple solution.
As a decent player, I’ve always felt that every game should incorporate a clear skill gap, but with the current state of EA FC, that gap is almost nonexistent. Several factors contribute to this, including issues with responsiveness, the effectiveness of skill moves, and most notably, AI defending. It's absurd that an AI-controlled player can defend or even win the ball back without the user actively controlling it. In my opinion, the most straightforward fix would be to significantly nerf the ability of AI players to intercept, tackle, or clear the ball unless they’re being directly controlled by the player. This would force a more pronounced skill gap, as players would need to anticipate the opponent's movements and passes, relying more on their own skill than on AI assistance.
Additionally, certain attributes like positioning should be tied more closely to player stats. The game only allows you to control one player at a time, so positioning should reflect the individual player's abilities. As for goalkeepers, it makes sense for them to be fully AI-controlled, but beyond that, the rest of the AI should be limited in its impact on gameplay.
Pro Clubs
To further improve the game mode, I believe EA could take steps to promote Pro Clubs by incentivizing full 11-player teams. One idea would be to nerf the effectiveness of AI-controlled players in Pro Clubs. Bots can be a huge issue here, as they reduce the skill gap and make the mode feel less engaging. By making AI-controlled players less reliable, you’d encourage teams to fill their squads with real human players, which would elevate the quality of play and make Pro Clubs more enjoyable.
Ultimately, Pro Clubs could be a fantastic mode if it removed the reliance on AI and focused on player skill and teamwork.
