It has been like that since the start of this game. I give it the gentlest tap to go to the nearest player and it generally flies to the direction of a player as far away as you can get. And usually doesn’t get there either. 

Have you looked in the setting to see if the passing feature is on assisted, I had this issue on fifa 23 and it was just that for some reason the game had switched it to manual

Yeah its awful, its to do with all the assistance EA try giving people, I was playing champs just now and it was so bad both for myself and I could notice for my opponent.

It always tries to pass to a player I have not aimed towards, even if I change the setting to on animation start, late or power up happens regardless

Even sometimes when only my striker is ahead of me and I press towards him in a straight line and press through ball it will just smack it over in a corner for him to go chase just because the assistance deemed it a better pass

Maybe try the manual pass feature using rb (r1) and triangle (Y)

yeah started to use those more, but its just annoying as players should be able to pass regardless, it never used to be an issue before they tried making the game too assisted

Rather than us having to try this that and the other, a game we have paid good money for should just work.

Passing has never been an issue or that big of an issue in any football game I and probably others have played but in FC 25 of course it is a problem. The whole game is a sham.

Manual offense will help with having passes and shots go where you want.

Or the game should just work as it should do regardless of which setting you apply?

By the way, I play manual and it's not as good as it has been in previous iterations. As I said, too many issues to try  and defend EA. It's a sham this year.

I mean the game works. I forget what the non manual settings read but they are not enforcing your actual power and direction. 

You choose the setting to not be manual. I mean some don’t actual know of the setting but once you do you can choose to have full control of your actions or have the cpu decide. 

On non manual you don’t have to actually aim to score a goal. So you could say the game isn’t working because it didn’t take your actual direction and power into account your shot would go to the corner flag. 

So I guess in a way for the game to work correctly they need to remove non manual offense. How can you have a competitive game when offense isn’t manual. 

Not sure if you're saying the passing is fine or there are issues but the passing mechanics are not consistent and definitely buggy. No settings, manual or otherwise changes that. It's s*** like many other aspects of the game. Glad it's working for you if it is but for many others it doesn't seem to be. 

Any way, buggy passing mechanics is the least of the games problems. Sham.
